Blegging

03 Oct 2006 04:14 pm

Okay, I tried this once before and it worked, so why not try again? If anyone out there in blog-land has a ticket to the October 30 Decemberists show at the 9:30 Club that they'd be interested in selling me, said individual would be my hero for all time.

Just saying.

Also -- got the new album yesterday . . . very good stuff.

I might have an extra ticket to the nov. 1 philly show, but that requires a willingness to travel.

I'm your huckleberry.

Save your money. They're good live but the last two of their shows I've attended were completely ruined by the audience they attracted. So disappointing. But maybe DC doesn't have so many wankers. (Ha.)

tps12, I am interested in hearing more about "the audience they attracted." Too nerdy or too much moshing?

Grogor, "too much moshing"? In DC? I saw them live in DC last year or whenever and I didn't see any moshing. Pretentious nerds, perhaps, but no mosh pit. And, for the record, I hate Kate Bush songs and I think they did one of those.

Is it true that they moved Mark Schmitt from guitar to bass?

"The Crane Wife" is arriving at my doorstep by Friday. I'm really anxious to hear it. Is it better than "Picaresque"?

How'd everyone like the new cursive album?

Petey, yes, I totally heard that too. I hear M Schmitt will do anything the Decemberists ask of him.

I've seen The Decemberists twice and, honestly, they're not as good live since changing drummers. They just don't have the urgency they used to... their show is good, but it's more... well... professional, now.

if you like the decemberists, you might want to check this out:

I've got a ticket and a cute date. Inclusive package will cost you extra.

I have a hard time imagining moshing at a Decembrists show.
