America has been liberated from the burden of bankruptcy protection, liberated from constraints on torturing people, liberated from the nuisance of search warrants and due process, liberated from not having to teach to the test, and so on.
I want to say that the ghosts of the nine Mayflower families I'm descended from are rolling in their proverbial graves, but they were all puritans and weirdos so they'd probably approve.

But he has tried to "liberate" this country from the tyranny of judicial activism, FISA court oversight, fair taxation and balanced budgets.
But yes, it could be much, much worse.
