Responding to the (previously posted) threat to criminally prosecute the offender, Paul Mirengoff says he hopes to work out a plea bargain. But, good liberal that he is, John Hinderaker lets Paul off with no punishment whatsoever and then blames the victim!

The original post still has a link to the forums inviting people to "heap abuse on the moron" who did it. Sounds like a plan.

You can tell how low my expectations of right-wing blogs have fallen, when I think we should credit them for owning up to it. I wouldn't have expected them to admit it was their own fault.

It's funny, the response to this, and the Lieberman hack, and many others are demonstrating a trend - any time there are unexpected tech problems with a web site, the owners instinctively blame evil hackers. This is the blog equivalent of blaming alcoholism or child abuse after dirty voice messages to you sent to teenagers get reprinted on Drudge.

What a pack of wankers. I presume that Assrocket was distracted by a pageant that needed his right hand's attention.

Perhaps they hired Lieberman's web administrator.

Cranky

I know for a fact that Democratic campaigns (ones this community supported very much) have had the same combination of paranoida / technical ineptness.

I'm not sure you could come up with better summation of the current administration than describing them as a combination of paranoia and ineptness.

Democratic campaigns (ones this community supported very much) have had the same combination of paranoia / technical ineptness.

Probably true, though Democratic campaigns also have a documented history of being subjected to DOS attacks that were orchestrated at high levels in the GOP, so maybe it's not just paranoia.
