Think Positive

14 Jan 2007 12:23 am

It's easy, from time to time, for your average Wizards fan who ought to know better to convince himself that this is a pretty solid basketball team we've got ourselves. Then all of a sudden the team finds itself in San Antonio. For the second half of a back-to-back. Then we get reminded of what a good basketball team really looks like. The good news, however, is that this game was one of several over the past few weeks where Andray Blatche has actually started to look to me like a promising young player rather than a bad young player who the PR department wants me to believe is promising. Plus, the dude got shot during his rookie season so he can add some toughness.

No worries Matt. My Spurs have been cashing on years of built up karma points that I believe the Wiz may also benefit from sometime soon. Keep the faith.

Folks can convince themselves all kinds of delusional notions are true...

"Plus, the dude got shot during his rookie season so he can add some toughness."

On the flip side, what if in the same way Larry Hughes has a propensity to get injured, Blatche has a propensity to get shot?

In that case, Blatche would improve his game, getting up the hopes of 'zards fans, only to have Adam Morrison pull a handgun out of his hair in the third quarter of a game in Charlotte next year and plug Blatche four times.

Of course, Blatche could begin playing in Kevlar, but somehow I think that might hinder his mobility.

Is this a good post to note that you don't bother putting pictures into your blog any more?

Shot? They should never have changed their name from the Bullets.

i agree with petey, i was much more worried about friday's loss (i watched pretty much the whole thing) to OK/NO. how do you lose to a team like that, especially when they are missing their two main scorers? i expected us to lose to the spurs in SA.

our perimeter defense is and was just pathetic (we have the worst 3pt% against in the league). our rotation was just terrible, in part set up by poor on ball defense.

as much as it sounds trite, defense really is it right now. you have three guys who collectively score 70 pts a game, so scoring isn't an issue. when can we get it together?

Adam Morrison would only pull firearms out of his mustache.

Andre Blatche is a major talent. The Wiz need to resist the tempation to trade him or not resign him. Or they should deal him to the Nuggets post-haste.
