Slick Dancing?

27 Feb 2007 01:20 pm

Scott Helman reports:

Here are some views of Mitt Romney causing concern inside his campaign: His hair looks too perfect, he's not a tough war time leader, and he has earned a reputation as "Slick Dancing Mitt" or "Flip-Flop Mitt."

I'm still sick as the proverbial dog and blogging at half-strength, but I'm fairly certain what he's done is earned a reputation as "Multiple Choice Mitt" not "Slick Dancing Mitt," though the latter would be fun to see, too.

Mitt was standing next to me at a CVS a few months ago, and I'll agree that his hair was slick. Didn't see any dancing, though.

I think what Romney really has to avoid, given the constituency he's trying to appeal to, is "Catcher's Mitt".

Let's shorten 'Multiple Choice Mitt' and just go with 'Multiple Mitt'. If that nickname subliminally suggests to people a psychopathic sex fiend from The Silence of the Lambs, I can't help it.

He really should do "Dancing with the Stars". It can only help.

Google has 10 hits for "slick dancing mitt" and it looks like they're all from today.

A significant portion of the fundamentalist Christian base believes that dancing is of Satan. A dancing Mormon would just be frosting on the devil's food cake.

Though if he displayed some smoove dance moves, I'd be more inclined to vote for him.

And yet the most-hated segment of the electorate says there's no God.

Those were the old days, when he believed some wrong things. What used to be called having been young and irresponsible. You can rest assured that as of now and forevermore, Mitt Romney will only go to Walmart.

And feel better Matt.

I wish this journalistic construct had a name..."they call him X", where X is something the writer just made up but would love to get into general circulation.

Of course, politicians who acquire a broad reputation for being "slick" are, practically by definition, not all that slick.

So what do you call 'Slick Willie' Clinton? If he wasn't slick, I don't know who was.

All right, in other news, I really want to get the 'Throw the Bush Down the Well' meme into circulation. Can anyone help me?
