Basketvlogging

Catherine and I chat at Friday's game versus the Cavs:

Not, perhaps, my finest media hour. Camerawork is by Catherine on her digital camera. I wasn't aware that those things could shoot movies but, of course, it makes sense that in a digital world the video/still dichotomy would break down.

The quality control/let's-get-it-all-out-there dichotomy seems also to be in danger of breaking down.

Yeah, it seems like we're going a lot about this wild, exciting new medium. None of it good.

Nothing like vlogging Matthew eating chocolate ice cream in a waffle cone. Mmmmmm.

It could have been worse; there could have been a music track featuring some hipster doofus band.

Vlogging is clearly a conspiracy by the MSM to get its audience back by making bloggers look bad.

Oh, and the people who like movies made on digital cameras the most are the people who sell batteries.

"Not, perhaps, my finest media hour."

Well, you're not wearing a hoodie, but otherwise, it ain't too bad.

And it's five in a row for the Powder Blues. Bubbachuck was dominant in the 4th.

With the 'zards suffering their untimely death, I invite Matthew to join Powder Blue nation for the playoffs.

(By the way, it's not the "Wiz", it's the "zards". I thought that was already clear to everyone.)

WTF?

Being able to watch Matthew Yglesias eat chocolate ice cream is pretty far down on the list of why the internets were created.

Well, you're not wearing a hoodie....

Actually, he is. It's a zip-up, which was unzipped.

As the lawyer/spoilsport in the audience, I can only express hope that the NBA doesn't feel constrained to sue Matt & Catherine for violating the league's exclusive right to license video of its games . . .

Surpisingly the potential of digital sensors has not been utilized more. In a digital sensor it is theoretically possible to capture a great deal more information, than just a proxy for wavelength on a focused plane. Theoretically, you could also capture time, wavelength and direction. Using time alone, there could be a lot or post process potential (camera stabiliaztion, intersting interaction with flash, etc.). If you could get very accurate measurements for direction, you could perform all of the lenses function post process as well.
