Panda-blogging

I do love the National Zoo, but perhaps I should pay a visit to Sichuan province. Pandas turn out to be even cuter when they're more plentiful.

I thought pandas were naturally solitary, which is why they had to separate them at the National Zoo.

They're vicious.

My mother-in-law, a very sweet, kind and caring woman, loaths panda with a bizarre fury. No point here, really, but, I guess, to each their own....

Yeah, it's pretty remarkable. At the Wolong Nature Preserve, they they got hundreds of pandas sitting around in nice free-form habitats, of all ages and sizes, so you can get really close to them, and even get your picture taken with one (for an extra free of course). A little known fact: pandas can climb trees. Seeing full-grown pandas sleeping in the tree canopy is pretty awesome.

Sichuan food is awesome. Once I went with a couple of friends to a Sichuan restaurant in China in a big city, yet the restaurant was in the middle of a field (yet still part of the city). Middle of fucking nowhere. Awesome spicy fish and tofu. If I wasn't so drunk, I could remember what they were called. You also haven't had the real down-home Sichaun restaurant experience until you've had cats come up to your table to beg for food. Conclusion: Sichuan, home to 1 out of every 50 humans alive, is fucking awesome.

Pandas are cute and fuzzy.
