To get super-self-referential meta, I liked Reihan Salam's comment on my comment on Jonathan Chait's comment on the blogosphere.

On a broader note, I think cleaving Ross from Reihan has made them both stronger, like if you chopped one of those regenerative lizards in half (and, of course, if regenerative lizards could regenerate after such a devastating injury).

You're talking about the "Wuffie" bit and the bit about the demographic characteristics of likely early "entrepreneurs" in the netroots, right? My recollection of the portion of one of your posts that Chait quoted was that it was clearly ironic, and that it was kind of you to not label his use of it deliberately disingenuous. So I don't find much value in Reihan's discussion of that point.

Matt - You are more like a Chinese man in a bull shop, than a bull in a China shop. Good job!

You carefully select the good points, and then discard the bad poinst.

Right, the Wuffie stuff.

Also note that our crack IT staff has the comment header thing resolved.

One thing I admire about you, Matt, is your ability to simultaneously maintain your integrity, increase your right-handed Whuffie (Atrios's affectionate nicknames- and your left-handed Whuffie (Andrew Sullivan's awards). You are the Whiffie master. And in a good way.

But your zoology needs work It's starfish that regenerate.

Woo-hoo!

No more tourette's.

Now all you have to do is to politely suggest a Recent Comments feature to your crack IT staff once a week until they decide that implementing it is easier than having to deal with you every week.

Just to correct Pithlord, some reptiles will regenerate tails. Specifically some geckos (Leopard gecko being one) will lose tails as a way of getting away from a predator. It does grow back.

Right, but you don't get a whole new lizard. If you do it right, you can bisect a starfish and get two. Advantage: starfish!

I think Matt is the Vishnu, Atrios the Brahma, and Kos the Shiva of the lefty blogosphere.

Matt's value is his ability to reason straightforwardly. An elementary talent, but few prominent opinion journalists are similarly capable.

"Cleave" is on of few english words that's its own antonym.

Yeah, also "enjoin" and "sanction." I also think "general" can be its own antonym, in the following sense. When a layperson says that something is generally true, he means to indicate that there are exceptions. When a mathematician (or whatever) says that something is generally true, he means to indicate that there are no exceptions.

"Resign" is pretty close. You can resign from a position, and you can also re-sign a contract for that position.

"Catholic" and "parochial" are are both synonyms and antonyms.

Moot is its own antonym as well.
