The list of Jewish anti-semites gets longer: Adventures of Kavalier and Clay author Michael Chabon hates the Jews. Maybe someone could just publish a list of American Jews who aren't anti-semites and it would be shorter.

Eric Alterman hates jews so much; I hear his grandfather was the Jewish Mengele, hence the horrific pun of his last name.
Simmer down, AIPAC; you certainly take this stuff pretty seriously for members of the tribe that invented self-deprecating humor...
This post should go over well.
Well, I know I hate the Jews. They're just so ... jewwie. (Except for William Shatner. The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences made him an honorary gentile after the first airing of T.J. Hooker.)
Calling Chabon an anti-semite for writing a novel speculating about a world in which Alaska became the Jewish homeland is foolish. Conflating the hyperbolic statements of a "critic" in Murdoch's Gothan tabloid with a denuniciation from a legitimate organization like the ADL or AJC - equally foolish.
It's all these jews whose names aren't jewy enough that are talking out of turn... Chabon, Yglesias; make with the Goldbergs and the Liebermen!
Chabon was in Harvard Square last night for a reading; my friend went, and, as far as I know, no mention of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion was made. Huh.
MHP,
You need to work on your sarcasm sensor...
There were segments of 'Kavalier & Clay" that were EXTREMELY disrespectful towards the Golem of Prague.
The practice of "critics" trying to smear established writers seems to be enjoying a vogue these days. Just recently, there were also Jack Shafer going after Ian McEwan (for supposed plagiarism) in Slate and Sasha Frere-Jones in the NYT accusing Stephin Merritt of being a racist (the entire body of evidence for which consisted of Merritt publicly stating he liked the song "Zip-a-dee-doo-dah." Really.)
Since this kind of sub-adolescent character-assassination is easier to write (and, for the celebrity-oriented, also easier to understand) than real criticism, I predict that this trend will continue.

Well, there's Senator Joe Lieberman.
And then there's former Senator George Allen.
I think that's it.
The rest of us are little better than the Nazis.
