Party's over, it's past 4:30 in the AM, and it's really time to go to bed. Still, one last nineties video:
It's a bit hammy, but I think this is my favorite video of the decade. Either that or NIN's "Closer."

And here's the second best metaphorical cumshot in a 90's video. More subtle than the one in Black Hole Sun, but better supporting thematics.
Wow, what a crappy song. I had almost forgotten about it, and then bam, inane, repetitive lyrics back in my brain. Oh well, they can keep the character names from the cast of "Friends" company.
NIN Closer is amazing. My other favorites are Guns 'N Roses "November Rain," Smashing Pumpkins' "Tonight, Tonight."
Bob requires a human host.
"Tonight, Tonight" is my favorite video, but Superunknown, the album on which "Black Hole Sun" appears, is one of the 90s most underappreciated albums. At the time it was huge, but now all anyone remembers from the decade is Nevermind, OK Computer, and (if a publication has any crediblity) Loveless by My Bloody Valentine. Nobody really remembers the awesomeness of Superunknown.
From the Wiki: Black Hole Sun" has been covered by Judith Owen (mainly in 5/4 time, in a dramatic break with the original), Paul Anka, Mimi Goese, Incubus, Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gormé, Cibo Matto, jazz pianist Brad Mehldau, The Moog Cookbook, Alanis Morissette, Copeland, Peter Frampton, Handsome Hank And His Lonesome Boys.....
Great choice. This is one of the best music videos ever, IMHO. It does cheesy/scary so well you forget about the cheesy part.
Not as bad as I remembered. Still, the seeds of all that is Audioslave is there, no?
My nominee for best video of the 90s = Sabotage. (The Beavis & Butt-Head version.)
Hammy's what made it good; the music is catchy enough and the subject matter edgy enough to make it bearable even in this cynical post-Reno 911: Miami world. Soundgarden sowed the seeds for the pixies, MBV, pavement etc. appreciation to follow. They ushered little young pop-fiending-me into the world of good rock with their big dumb sex and metametaphorical cumshots. Great album. But Audioslave? Anathema. Srsly d00d, audioslave bites my bizkit!! LIKE HXCORE!!!!

"I think this is my favorite video of the decade."
Definitely the best metaphorical cumshot in a 90's video.
But why listen to Soundgarden's wildly derivative cover when you can listen to Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme's haunting original?
(The whole Lounge-a-palooza album is amazing. The Ben Folds Five version of "She Don't Use Jelly" is far and away better than the Flaming Lips version.)
