I dunno if anything analagous shows up on the Post's print edition, but look at this:

goodling

We're seriously just now supposed to be considering the possibility that the Bush administration might have bad intentions?

Excellent MS Paint job.

I used the Gimp.

Matt,
I think your sarcasm detector needs to be recalibrated.

Yeah, I'd be willing to cut the webpage headline writers some slack. Plus, the conclusion of the editorial represents real progress:

"The complaints from lawmakers that President Bush passed on to Mr. Gonzales and the similar involvement of Mr. Rove contain more than a whiff of political self-interest. That is a legitimate and important area for congressional inquiry, and it is looking increasingly as if the answers are to be found at the White House."

Put the wii controller down and get some sleep Matt, you're going to go blind.

Well, the creepy thing is that we're now at a stage when we're applauding even the tiniest little scraps of truth from the US news media. Wow, just look how low our standards have fallen...

Goodling admitted to committing a crime - she admitted engaging in conduct which violates the Hatch Act.

Shouldn't that be the headline? Or is an honest discussion of the facts & the law too much for these people?

Seriously, her testimony was the equivalent of:
"Did you stab the victim multiple times?
I tried to act in good faith and simply trim his beard. Nevertheless, I do acknowledge that the knife may have plunged into his chest several times."

Also, she can frame it as "crossing the line" - it was a violation of Federal law. It clearly was. If the newspapers can't report it as such, we can expect they will never accuse a Bush Administration official of committing a crime.

"Shouldn't that be the headline? Or is an honest discussion of the facts & the law too much for these people."

That fact and that law were discussed by the Post this morning. Maybe you should read before you slam.

It think that was snark. Institutional snark, but snark none the less.

Gonzales - Lied & suborned perjury.
McNulty - Lied.
Sampson - Lied.
Paulose - BFF

Griffin - Suspected of violating Federal Election Laws and Court order on behalf of the Republican party.

Iglesias - Absentee landlord due to military service.

Lam - Not doing enough about immigration and gun crimes and too busy prosecuting Republicans.
