Off The Table

Ray Takeyh makes the case for taking threats of unilateral military force off the table in The Boston Globe. I agree.

For students of history, Mr. Takeyhs' op-ed reminds one of speeches made by Neville Chamberlain and his cohorts during the 1930s relative to the threat posed by a rearmed Germany. Unfortunately, like Mr. Hitler, the only language that the leaders of current day Iran understand is the mailed fist.

America needs to repudiate all this GOP unilateral lawlessness, which has made the world much more dangerous and America's influence in the world much weaker.

Anyway, we shouldn't threaten to start another war that we can't finish.

Losing 2 wars at the same time isn't enough for the chickenhawks. They want to lose as many as they can at the same time.
Once the military is destroyed, the Defense Department will be privatized and more of our treasury looted for the war profiteers.
