Condoleezza Rice planning to meet with Syria's foreign minister. Why does she hate freedom?

Will a**hole Fred Hiatt and the Washington Post editorial page now give Ms. Rice the same treatment they gave Ms. Pelosi last month? Don't hold your breath.

Was watching the Today show this morning (I know, shouldn't do it, it rots your brain), and Ann Curry, reading the news, stated quite matter-of-factly that the Rice/al-Moallem meeting would be the "first high-level contact" between the US and Syria in some length of time (I forget). What, now that Rice is meeting with them, the whole Pelosi trip has gone down the memory hole? Is there any sense in which the Speaker of the House and the President of Syria is not a "high-level contact"?

SLC, given that Rice is Secretary of State and Pelosi isn't, I wouldn't expect him to give them the same treatment.

Re Bill

So it's okay for a Republican (e.g. Frank Wolf, Darell Issa) to meet with Syrian officials but not a Democrat.

Why wasn't that woman fired on 9/12?
