John Corzine does a PSA:
Now if only he'd cut an add about how you shouldn't abuse your power to speed.

Incredibly lame. All the quick-cutting diminishes the visual effect of the wrecked Suburban, which is further diminished by the industrial setting. The too-cute-by-half walking-away-on-crutches ending doesn't overcome the flattering shots of Corzine inside the pristine library. A couple of lingering shots of the damaged SUV, preferably from the scene would have been much more effective. And, it would have been good to show Corzine in his hospitalized state. As for the commentary that the commercial ignores the reprehensible policy decisions leading to the crash, it's a buckle-up spot, not a policy mea culpa.

Exactly. Everything I've seen indicates Corzine's entourage caused the accident. I mean, let's say you're an ordinary driver cruising along doing, say, 70, passing someone on the Parkway, and you see an SUV coming up behind you doing your speed plus 20, lights flashing, accompanied by God knows how many ordinary staties. What's your first reaction? Get the fuck out of the way, right? And all of this for a photo op with Imus and the basketball team? Give me a break. If it's that important, take a helicopter from Trenton to AC.
This whole situation reminds of me why I intensely dislike politicians of all parties (along with celebs in general) -- they're convinced the normal rules don't apply to them, and if someone else gets hurt, that's the breaks, peon. Serves you right for being in my way.
