I would say that's blues flute, but that would just be quibbling.

He's actually not bad. Quit your day job (please).

If Hugh Laurie had played Ron Burgundy, I woulda thought I was watching that.

I wonder how much overlap there is between Matt's and Ezra's respective readerships.

What is "weird" about a guy playing the flute?

What's weird is THAT guy playing the flute. You'd think he was Porgy Tirebiter.

Am I too good for the obvious joke? Absolutely not.

Da-da-da-da-daaah-da

eeeaaaAQUALUNG!!!

Am I stuck in the 90s when reference humor for its own sake kept me amused? Absolutely yes.

"I wonder how much overlap there is between Matt's and Ezra's respective readerships."

A lot. I'm not sure why, either.

I believe Tony Snow actually played onstage with Ian Anderson once.

It's not just weird, it's downright tacky!

It's quite common for sax players (he's wearing a sax strap on his neck) to play the flute as well. Same basic fingering, easier to carry, and noise level that won't bother your neighbor.

MSB: Not at all. I was going to make the same insightful, piquant comment, but you beat me to it.

Jeff Davis: Very nice. Well, they wanted him for captain of the ringball team, but he wasn't there at that point.

He's quite good. Much better than I am (I play too).

Stands to reason--he's an adroit improvisor. It's all he has.

Yes--quit your day job, Tony!

jazz flute is for little fairy boys.

Ron Burgundy lives. Stay classy, Washington press corps.

"Come on! Who would like to hear Ton' Snow play the Yazz Flute?"

I want to say something negative (like "weird"). But I like it. I'm impressed.
