Or was there a story early today about Hillary Clinton's campaign trumpeting her endorsement by failed minority leader and current corporate lobbyist Dick Gephardt?

Can't be any stranger than Obama's camp trumpeting the endorsement of failed minority-turned-majority-turned-minority leader Tom Daschle, who also lost a re-election bid in his home state.
Gephardt is loved by a crucial segment of the Democratic base, so trumpeting his endorsement makes sense.
Well, I guess we can scratch Matt off the invitation list Hillary's inaugural party in 01/2009. Really, Matt I thought you were supposed to be at least a bit above the fray. Guess not.
I think Matt scratched his name off that list when he co-wrote an piece called "The Case Against Hillary."
if she tries real hard, she might also get Lieberman's
Gephardt's greatest achievement is probably sticking the shiv to Dean in Iowa.
Choosing the worst Democratic leaders since 1980 would be quite the parlor game. (I claim Tony Coehlo) Anyone want to take a crack at the best leadership from the same time period. George Mitchell?

Dunno. I was too fascinated by the allegation that Mark Penn had violated federal wiretapping laws in a quest to protect his union-busting consulting firm to notice Geppy's endorsement.
