Hearing

31 Jul 2007 01:09 pm

I'm doing this on my phone so it'll be curt.

So far surge architecht keane and the top GOP member have both praised o'hanlon. Keane says we need to stay in Iraq even if there's no reconciliation and wants two or three permanent bases. He also asserts -- contrary to reality -- that sunnis are moving toward reconciliation.

Update: General newbold seems cranky -- very cranky -- about antiwar sentiment but ultimately endorses the idea that we should 'indicate a start date' for withdrawal in spring of 2008.

Update 2: General McCaffrey says we shouldn't even bother to ask whether or not the surge os working until petraeus -- 'the most talented person I have ever met' -- has had a year. He also says we need to give the iraq security forces many more resources. But he says we need to reduce the number of troops we have in iraq or the army will start unraveling in april. He says we can achieve that by leaving the cities. Acknowledges that this is inconsistent with pet's strategy.

if mccaffrey thinks petraeus is the most talented person he has ever met, he should get out more.

General McCaffrey. HE is an authority on winning a war?

How's that drug war going Czar McCaffrey?

Perhaps we should get the opinion of Michael Dukakis on winning the Presidency. Then we could ask the Buffalo Bills how to win the Super Bowl.

Sheesh!

Hello, Curt.

Matt,

If you want to be clever, you could switch blog entry titles thusly: title this one "The Horror, the Horror", and title the one about the 108 year old lady being made to wait for a hearing aid "Hearing".

That would be funny. Does anyone remember funny?

Ah, McCaffrey the Liar turning up like the proverbial bad penny. The Swiss Army Knife of the establishment.

Now I know we've lost the war.

No misspellings! Thank you Steve Jobs! And don't call me Shirley!

According to Gen McCaffrey, the Army's been "Starting To Unravel" since 2004. You'd think it would be just a big pile of string by now. He's always complaining about the military being broke, but insists the war can somehow still be won, someday.

Obviously, we need to reinstate the draft, bump the force level up to a half-million or so, commit to a 50-year stay, and institute a 10000 tax hike on every filer earning less than 100K a year to pay for it.

So, according to McCaffrey, we must continue the surge for at least a year, unless we don't want to unravel the army, in which case we must stop the surge before April. Tom Friedman would be proud.

He also says we need to give the iraq security forces many more resources.

I totally agree. Is that gay bomb ready to deploy yet?

McCafferty is a know nothing, has always been a know nothing, and will always be a know-nothing.
Period. When he was drug czar, he chastised the government of the Netherlands for having a "massive drug problem", the US had nothing to learn from the Dutch.

Well, later, McCafferty learned that the Netherlands' drug "problem" isn't even 1/10th the size of the problem in the US per capita. McCafferty just wanted to put people in jail... when the Dutch were telling him that drug use is a public health problem, not a criminal justice problem. Of course, McCafferty willfully learned nothing from the Dutch during his tour as "DRUG CZAR"... He accomplished NOTHING in the "WAR" on drugs... a total failure. But he's macho and swaggers... so the GOP and many toothless wonders of American ignorantly think he is a can-do and knowledgeable person.

What a loser McCafferty is. And always will be.
