Hot, Hot DC-Area Print Journalists

23 Jul 2007 10:41 am

Fishbowl DC's 2007 "Hottest Media Types Finalists: Female, Off Air" list is now up and running online. This year's edition is kind of full of friends of mine, so I'll refrain from offering an opinion, but just don't vote for Nedra Pickler who's evil.

Hollywood for ugly people indeed.

Please. Dana Priest easily beats out the competition.

"just don't vote for Nedra Pickler who's evil."

Garrance has been making a valiant bid to merit being considered evil of late...

Stephanie Gans has big cans.

I hope Fishbowl checked with people to see if it was OK to enter them into this thing.

I have a minor crush on Holly Bailey. Fishbowl DC deserves condemnation for not making her a finalist.

What, no nudity?

I find this kind of thing demeaning to all the hot men in D.C.

Based solely on the supplied photos, Liz Gorman wins easily.

I wish they all could be East Coast girls.

I'd say Kerry Howley is the fairest of them all, but working for Reason magazine is an automatic disqualification.

Bridget Garwood is the only draftee I'd throw one down. Feminist outrage, you're on the clock!

Barrie Hardymon wins for best name.

No danger of Nedra winning that contest -- even by DC journalist standards, she appears pretty ordinary looking from that photo.

All cute in a stylish Des Moines sort of way and aside from the Peckler antichrist, all worthy of support.

While there I clicked on the male counterparts. This is a joke, right?

Wow, terrible picture of GFR. I guess they have to make it a fair fight.

Those Washington Times girls could make me seriously consider doing one of Rev. Moon's mass weddings.

The Ethical Warewolf nails it.

WaT gets the hottest ones.

Garance has been making a valiant bid to merit being considered evil of late...

Seriously, it's hard to imagine someone who makes more intellectually vacuous arguments. I don't think she's unintelligent but she really makes so many groan-inducingly shallow claims.

Also please tell me that there is a male version of this too so I don't feel so guilty about it.

Write in Angela Valdez. Come on guys. Don't vote for Matt's hoity-toity Ivy friends.

This DC-insider social club stuff both fascinates and repels me. I'm sure someone will tell me I'm just jealous.

They actually have a "hottest guys" list, but it doesn't have much on it (Tony Snow? Ick). How could such a list omit Ezra Klein?

Wow. Your blogroll so useful in this respect. I can just click over to EzraKristonCatherine et al for a quick gauge of braggadocio.

Ezra is totally on the hottest guy list

You're right--I was looking at the "Hottest Guys--PR(ugh!)" list by mistake.

I persobally think Kriston looks hot, but my taste can be a bit non-mainstream. Nevertheless, he's on the list!

Wow, Kerry Howley is indeed muy delicioso, but I have to side with LaFollette Progressive on this one. Which by default leaves us with Barrie Hardymon. So who does she face from the men's off-air bracket in the semi-finals?

They changed the photo of Garance... they must have realized what a bad picture the other one was.

I persobally think Kriston looks hot, but my taste can be a bit non-mainstream.

A bit?!?!?

If your name was Nedra (Tedra, Mulva, etc.) you'd be evil too.

At the risk of destroying my minimal feminist credentials, there are an awful lot of extremely attractive women to choose from there. If I had to narrow it down, and I kind of have to given the circumstances, then I'd nominate Mses (why isn't there an abbreviation?) Rowland, Gorman, Franke-Ruta and Garwood.

I'll agree with the Werewolf. Kelly Torrance in particular...what a shame she works for that evil empire.

I'd nominate Mses (why isn't there an abbreviation?)

Ginger, just out of curiosity, why would you need to abbreviate something that's only four letters long to begin with? You might get something even more unwieldy (cf "Messrs", the abbreviated plural of "Mr") if you're not careful.

Well that's what I was asking. Why isn't there a female equivalent of "Messrs"? I wasn't looking for something shorter than "Mses", just wondering why "Mses" or something like it doesn't exist. I blame the patriarchy.
