Romney Endorses Edwards

That Mitt Romney has some unhinged supporters is no surprise. That the governor himself is sufficiently unhinged to be photographed standing next to his unhinged supporters' unhinged signs is a bit more surprising. Last, we get the unadulturated buffoonery of campaign spokesman Kevin Madden's email to Eric Kleefeld: "The governor stopped briefly for a picture with a supporter who just happened to be holding their own sign with an alliterative play on words. I don’t think it was equating or comparing anyone."

Doesn't seem so terrible to me. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Romney really is against, Obama, Bin Laden, and HRC.

Interesting that Romney cares about Osama Bin Laden now. This is what he's said in the past: "It's not worth moving heaven and earth spending billions of dollars just trying to catch one person."
Just another flip-flop I guess.

If I remember my 10th grade English class correctly, that's not alliteration. Nor is it consonance or assonance. It's just a straight-up rhyme. I guess he didn't want to say, "Heh-heh...Obama rhymes with Osama!"

I read that more as "Obama-Osama" (i.e. xenophobic/pseudo race baiting) rather than "Obama and Osama and Hillary"

I'd love to see Obama denounce the sign as hateful race-baiting and call on Mitt to apologize to the American people for thinking they'd be persuaded by such ignorance.

Make Mitt defend the sign. Make him try to equivocate on it. Or end up with the last word, characterizing Mitt as somewhat of an ignorant racist.

Right in the campaign's wheelhouse, too. "This is exactly the type of dirty partisan attack we've come to expect in Washington, but that's not the politics my campaign represents" or some such thing

Right, there was no comparison at all. Kind of like Jonah Goldberg doesn't compart Hilary Clinton to Mussolini and Hitler in his imminently forthcoming tome (even if the comparison no longer occurs on the cover).

There's a cost for the Republicans in trying to play the divide and conquer game this time round. They don't have the numbers to get away with that crap now that their coalition is breaking down.

Go ahead Mitt and show everyone to the right of Ann Coulter how much you disrespect them. It will only hasten your defeat.

Romney seems to be a competent, somewhat strange, politically connected businessman who will say or do anything to get elected. He is trying to win the Republican nomination by saying or doing as many batshit crazy things as possible. I think this says alot about the Republican primary electorate.

Actually, it's assonance (the O and Ah sounds) and consonance (the M sound). It can be alliteration, according to this defintion:
