The Liberal-Franco-Islamo-Fascist-Marxist Menace

20 Jul 2007 05:40 pm

For someone who actually spent several years living in France, Mitt Romney is remarkably ignorant about the country if he really thinks Hillary Clinton is running on a platform that's too left-wing to win an election there. He also called her a Marxist, demonstrating once again that Romney's key strategy to winning the GOP nomination despite his moderate pre-campaign political profile is to say a lot of crazily dumb stuff.

In the rest of the article, we learn that president Romney will crack down on "child-sex predators" and loves torture. Perhaps the predators will be tortured. Except he doesn't quite have the guts to say he embraces torture. Rather, he insisted that "enhanced interrogation . . . is not a euphemism for torture" which, of course, it clearly is.

Saying his stupid name and looking at his stupid granite face is torture enough. Someone drown this lummox and stop pretending he's any better than Fool-iani or Fred "Savage" Thompson-- or even John "Campaign Suicide" McCain.

Hillary Clinton IS the consummate bourgeois liberal. She stands for nothing and gorges herself wholesale out of the invisible hand of the free market, soiling her loins with the fetid juices of unbridled capital and corporate rapacity. She pays lip service to fundamental human rights but when the chips come down, she sides with "caution" and "temperance" and refuses to stand for anything counter to the elitist status quo.

Summary of posts one and two: we're fucked again.

In that article Mitt's quoted talking about 'Democratic Party friends,' not 'Democrat Party friends.'

I'm sure his consultants already red-flagged that and it won't happen again, though.

"Mitt Romney" is not code for "suckiest scum-bag in years" although it clearly is.

Next time it'll be "Dumbocrap Paltry Fiends" just to make sure. I can see Mitt's eyes glowing red. You know what? I refuse to call him Mitt. That is a stupid nickname. I'm going to call him Willard, because he is king of the Rats-- and it's his name.

"[Romney] doesn't quite have the guts to say he embraces torture. Rather, he insisted that enhanced interrogation . . . is not a euphemism for torture' which, of course, it clearly is."

This isn't a lack of guts, it's political genius. His masterstroke at the debate was to say:

"Torture, no; Enhanced Interrogation techniques, yes!"

This translates as:
I will torture anyone I find it convenient to torture, but will always have the decency to lie to you about it.
If he sustains this level of technical perfection in his political messaging, he will win the nomination easily. We can only hope the authoritarian audience for this message will be outnumbered by those of us who are disgusted by it.

"It clearly is"

In other words, Matthew is saying "don't tell me what you mean, I'll tell you what you mean."

I am half french. My mother's family lives there.
For one, Hillary would be thrown out of french politics for being too rightist and too corporate.
for another, I am fed up with the snide put downs by republicans towards my family and myself.
I am proud of being french and am sick of it being a swear word or put down in republican circles. You are supposed to be insulted to be called french. If I was they would be stating the obvious and the truth. Because I am.
and this is why the republicans are loosing so many from their party.
And they call the democrats elitists!

Mitt:Against child sex predators but also against actually teaching children about sexual predators! Sounds like the Boston Diosee of the Catholic Church got a convert!

In other words, Al is a dicksplash.

[Hillary Clinton] stands for nothing and gorges herself wholesale out of the invisible hand of the free market, soiling her loins with the fetid juices of unbridled capital and corporate rapacity.

And Gregorio gets my vote for best new commenter. I haven't laughed so hard since my subscription to Workers Vanguard lapsed.

Almost off-topic, but does anyone know how this type of stuff plays in Louisiana, where a lot of people are descended from the French?

I hadn't thought about that Reality Man. There are a lot of cajuns in Louisiana but I doubt that they are Republican'ts anyway.

Careful, Pithlord, Gregorio may be obtuse enough to think you are complimenting him.

There was a radio commercial in the late 1990's that went like this:

Professor: Very good, Mr. Johnson. You are not as obtuse as I thought you were.
Student: Thanks, I've been working out.

Re: For one, Hillary would be thrown out of french politics for being too rightist and too corporate.

Oh, come on. There are no rightwing French politicians? (Jean Marie LePen comes to mind) No one representing the interests of the business class? Now I would agree that Hillary would be a consevative under most Euroepan political standards, but she certainly would not be out of the mainstream. That honor we can reserve for about 90% of our GOP.

Let's see, Rommney lived in Franch several years, then made himself fabulously wealthy in business but is too dumb to understand the abject bankruptcy of the French welfare state and the foolishness of dirgiste economics

whereas, MattY and you other losers are so much smarter than he...

oh , and vwcat, it is not just the French political stance people (yes, including Brits, et al)abhor, it is french arrogance about their supposedly superior culture. When your already flat-chested women are forced to wear buhrkas by the Islamofascist-Marxists see if you're so proud

I suppose Jozef's comment sounded better in the original German.

I'm rooting for Rommney because he so obviously has no shred of integrity. He'd campaign on a platform of making gay marriage mandatory and Wicca the official state religion if that would get him votes. If we get stuck with another GOP president, that's the kind of guy I want.

In the rest of the article, we learn that president Romney will crack down on "child-sex predators"...

Hell yeah, about time those brave Republicans squared off against that vast and popular child sex predator lobby.*

*Does not include Republican politicians who are child sex predators.

Back in the 2004 campaign, supposedly "moderate" GOP Senator Gordon Smith (also a member of the LDS church) made a press conference call for the Bush/Cheney campaign where he piled on the "John Kerry looks French" bandwagon and accused him of "advocating socialism".

Poor Republicans. After Clinton, the whole Dems-are-dirty-commies meme doesn't seem to work as well. *sniff*

Matt, Mitt's church not send him on a mission to France in order to expand his horizons. They sent him on a mission to France to reinforce and solidify his already-held beliefs.

You can give Mitt a governor for a father, have him work in investment banking, and give him lots of money, but it none of it can cure willful ignorance.
