The New Victory Caucus

Dave Weigel has the goods on the relaunch of the Victory Caucus website. Rather than haranguing Republicans out of expressing doubts about the war, the "new" idea is to become "a one-stop-shop for anyone interested in learning about what's really going on in the war."

What's really going on, of course, is that US forces are winning a brilliant victory against the combined forces of Ahmadenijad, al-Qaeda, Fidel Castro, and the Cobra Commander but the liberal media is covering it all up.

"What's really going on, of course, is that US forces are winning a brilliant victory against the combined forces of Ahmadenijad, al-Qaeda, Fidel Castro, and the Cobra Commander..."

Also Unicron.

Are you sure we're not winning instead against these guys:

It's all fun and games until someone blows up the ocean...

IMHO, the best one-stop for Iraq news is Iraqslogger.

Did you happen to notice that Hewitt offers this as a rejoinder to those of us who think it is taking too long for Iraq to form an actual government?: "it took 100 years for the American government to gel..."

I almost signed up a TownHall just to comment in the thread: "One hundred years?"

seriously? If we can't beat Cobra Commander, we're in worse shape than I thought. I mean, not to disparage the troops or anything, but that guy is just plain incompetent.

Lolzers. Can we take out V.E.N.O.M. while we're at it? Those dudes suck.

Yeah, but Cobra Commander and Destro have a real Bush-Cheney relationship going on.

You slimy liberal maggots are undermining the war effort. All of your negative talk is objectively pro-Cobra. Go Joe!

Instead of making up strawmen, you could visit Michael Yon's blog, and get the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Or you could just believe the "unnamed sources" the AP uses.

Methinks that James Robertson comment is spam.

APS

My gen-X Handbook of Snark indicates Cobra Commander parallels are only applicable to Kim Jong-il. They're reallly the only two fashion-forward totalitarians of relevance in the Pacific Theater.

Is that the Yon that posted the scoop of the year that al qaeda practiced cannibalism? There's a journalist who is thinking outside the box, unlike the wretched AP! I imagine he'd cut right through the bullcrap about Cobra Commander, who is a deadly islamofascist. If we don't fight him in the sky with all our superheros lead by Captain Mission Accomplished himself, Europe, at least, is doomed to become Eurarabia.

"Is that the Yon that posted the scoop of the year that al qaeda practiced cannibalism?"

When did Yon say Al Qaeda practiced cannibalism? What I read was him reporting that Iraqis in Diyala told him Al Qaeda killed and baked their children and presented the baked child at a lunch in an attempt to horrify and intimidate these Iraqis. Yon didn't claim to have seen direct evidence of this, but based on some of AQI's previously documented behaviors -- e.g., slashing the throat of an Iraqi woman, and then stomping on her belly to watch blood spurt out of the gash in her throat while she struggled for breath, before finally completely decapitating her -- baking children doesn't sound so implausible.

We believe that the American military is the finest in the world and indeed in history, well led and superbly trained, and populated at every level by America's best and brightest.

And also, ponies.

Fred, now I understand Yon's newsgathering methods. Wow, this puts it in a whole new light! Not like the AP, quoting unnamed sources about implausible car bombs - imagine! I doubt that ever happens - while ignoring the good news putting Iraq on track to produce as much electricity as it did in 2000 - a goal that will surely be reached through American know how by the end of the decade!

I hope Yon is hot on the trail of the Iranian mullahs love Iranian baby fritters story. Doesn't seem implausible, does it? They are, after all, the spawn of Satan.

Wait, V.E.N.O.M. stood for "Vicious Evil Network of Mayhem"? Who would call their organization that, even if its leader coincidentally had the last name, "Mayhem"? Did they hire a young Michael Gerson as a marketing consultant, or something?

Also, Destro is too honorable to be compared to Vice President Cheney. If Destro shot someone in the face, he'd own up to it. Then he'd probably chuckle evilly.

Hmm, according to Penny Arcade, Pokemon is on the scene, so perhaps we can finally crush Cobra Command once and for all.

I suppose that in the "if it doesn't fit the story line, it must be ignored" world you guys all live in, Michael Totten is some kind of stooge as well?

Go read Yon and Totten, especially their archives. Both have reported honestly about things that have gone wrong in Iraq. Unlike major media, they actually go out and report.
