I haven't read the Spine in a while, but this post is really off-the-wall. Peretz is mocking Joe Wilson for encouraging headwaiters at restaurants to address him as "your excellency" even though Joe Wilson doesn't do this. And it goes on from there!

We could also wonder if George Bush encourages headwaiters to address him as "Your Grand and Imperial Omnipotent Highness". And that's the kind of guy who's running the country!

The invidivual words appear to be English, but when you put em together the way ol Marty has its like a new language. A lighter, faster language that has cast off the weighty chains of meaning.

Joe Wilson is guilty of the following;
* Opposed Marty's beloved Iraq war.
* Exposed Niger uranium lies.
* Left Scooter with no choice but to expose his wife as a CIA agent and obstruct justice. Scooter, the beloved, gentle, kind, neocon friend of Marty Peretz.
Wilson is a despicable, vile man.
It's less ridiculous than libtard bloggers who are not satisfied with current Republican strawmen and feel the need to attribute their entire outlook to sexual resentments.
Wilson story gave Peretz a chance to trash both Wilson AND Hillary.
Peretz seldom writes a piece trashing just one person. He always finds an angle to bring in Jimmy Carter, John Kerry, Jim Baker, Bill Clinton, UN, Nancy Pelosi, George Soros............
Unbelievable stupidity on Peretz's part. For one thing, nobody ever calls an American Ambassador "Excellency." That title is normally reserved for Foreign Ministers, but is rarely used today. The common form of address for Ambassadors is "Mr. Ambassador." And, yes, former Ambassadors normally keep the title as an honorific for life. Many a know-nothing Republican political hack struts that Ambassador title around.
Believe it or not, MY understates the freakish mendacity of this post. Peretz tut-tuts that "one is not supposed to call oneself ambassador after ceasing to be one" -- that's the hook for the "Excellency" bit. But the press release he links to and quotes from specifically refers "former Ambassador Joseph Wilson." I'm at a loss for words.
besides Marty's whining about Joe Wilson, and his recent discussion of how well he likes life at the Beverly Hills Hotel, what else has he and his wacky gang been up to at StormFront Central?

You also didn't mention the sexist "maybe she'll wear dresses in her next remake" remark about Hilary Clinton. This guy is amazing. He also works in an attack on Jesse Jackson in the process.
But -- he is picking on a white guy, and there is no derogatory references to Ay-rabs, so it's actually a rather progressive post for the crazy man.

Your assertion that it was Joe Wilson himself who outyed his wife as a CIA undercover employee, not anyone in the Bush administration, is novel and entertainying. I'm sure that she will be filying for divorce any day now. No doubt she is gratefyul to youy for openying her eyes.

Wilson wrote his piece for the Times, then perjured himself repeatedly, so his wife was shaken from her noncovert bureacrat sinecure in Langley and the poor girl had to retire on pension, (but hey, they are glamour Vanity Faire types now.)
The punishment Wilson deserves is what all traitors deserve. If you want to continue to believe she was "undercover" and all that rubbush then stay in your pinko coocoon in Washington.

You know what man, if you are right and the anti-US CIA is concocting lies, and filing false charges with the U.S. attorney, and the entire country is in on this to the point where Bush is forced to pretend it's all it's true and only you and a couple of warbloggers know the real deal it's time to lay down and die.
