Yo-Yo Girl Cop

I just saw this trailer. A friend apparently will be in possession of a subtitled version soon:

I can't wait.

I can't wait.

Neither could the copyright holder.

Looks like Toei's lawyers couldn't wait either. There are plenty of other clips on youtube, though, both under "Yo-Yo Girl Cop" and "Sukeban Deka".

I must say Aya Matsuura is among my least favorite Japanese actresses. She's teeth-gratingly cute-cute in TV interviews and commercials, even by Japanese actress standards (admittedly, I'm in a vanishingly small minority in disdaining her). She was teh awesome in this movie, though.

Did "Shinobi" ever get released in the US? Yukie Nakama: Yum.

And here's a little description:
Hello Kitty meets 24

Anyone interested in a discussion of ethnic stereotypes in action movies?

Unless I'm horribly mistaken, a trailer is an advertisement for a film. But the copyright holder couldn't stand for it to be on YouTube, because heaven forbid the movie get some free publicity. Insane.
