al-Qaeda Video

07 Sep 2007 02:16 pm

Presumably OBL is going to emphasize how eager he is to drive the US out of Iraq, thus bolstering Bush's argument that we need to stay in Iraq, thus continuing the weird years-long collaboration between Bush and bin Laden where both men do everything in thor power to keep the US stuck in Iraq forever.

Republicans are suckers for reverse psychology. So are four year olds.

The Great Satan is too stupid to throw me into the briar patch!

both men do everything in thor power to keep the US stuck in Iraq forever.

By using some giant swinging hammer, presumably.

Bin Laden makes a reappearance tan and well rested after a spell in drug rehab. It appears he'd been pinching some of the product. The CIA found out and performed an intervention. He's been chillin' with Lindsay and the cool kids.

Yeah, gee, and they both owe their wealth to the House of Saud...

'Collaboration' is terrible word choice. They share an objective, and by some lights that's worth pointing out, but I don't think you actually mean to suggest Bush is collaborating with Bin Laden. But I bet the right wing blogs will think you did. Lazy hyperbolic writing makes the web stupid.

Symbiotic relationship is more like it.

To quote you from back in February: "It's really striking how casual mainstream elements of the right have become about tossing off accusations of treason about Democratic Party members of congress with whom they have policy disagreements."

Try not to do what you condemn. Bush is many awful things, but he's not a traitor or a collaborator.

It's reminiscent of Hamas shooting rockets into Israel before elections to help Likud get votes.

It depends on what OBL's objective is. If it is to permanently weaken the U.S. everywhere, then continuing his rhetoric which keeps the U.S. in Iraq is part of that process.

Is Iraq the only subject where OBL uses reverse psychology? Or was his famous fatwa an example of reverse psychology as well?

I'm waiting for Bin Laden to put out a campaign ad endorsing Hillary Clinton.

'Collaboration' is terrible word choice.

Yes and no. If this were an essay format, maybe MY wouldn't have used that word. But the real-time nature of blogging makes shorthand - which is often hyperbolic - inevitable; it's even a little tangy. And, in a sense, 'collaboration', in its unloaded sense, is not wrong: a symbiosis is a collaboration, surely.

I hope the winger blogs do pick up on it and screech away. You beat people like them by confronting them as directly as you can. I want to hear presidential candidates talk about how Bush/Cheney have made and are continuing to make the country less secure with their pin-headedness and bad character. 'Good intentions' are *extremely* cheap, and immaterial. I want it to dawn on people that Bush/Cheney and bin Laden do have a symbiotic relationship (absurdly so). Rove is right: attack an opponent on their supposed strength (nat'l security) - if it can work even when your attack is unfounded, imagine if the substance of your attack is not only true, but an open secret no one wants to admit.

"It's really striking how casual mainstream elements of the right have become about tossing off accusations of treason about Democratic Party members of congress with whom they have policy disagreements."

I wouldn't go so far as to say he's a traitor in the legal sense; he presumably does have 'good intentions' on his path to hell. He is a traitor to the spirit of the country and constitution, IMO, but that's not the same thing. But he is collaborating, if only as a useful idiot. The loaded word here is 'collaborator'. MY didn't use that word - he said 'years-long collaboration' (not loaded unless you load it yourself).

Has anyone looked at ABC News transcript of the Bin Laden broadcast. See
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2007/09/new-obl-tape-ir.html

An excerpt:

"To conclude," bin Laden says, "I invite you to embrace Islam." He goes on to say: "There are no taxes in Islam, but rather there is a limited Zakaat [alms] totaling 2.5 percent.”

------------
FUCK ME!!! Bin Laden's running for the Republican nomination for President!

On 2.5 per cent in taxes? There goes the Republican donors -- unless Rudi , Mitt or Fred pledge to make it 2 per cent.

Wadda you say guys? Going once. Going twice...

Don Williams,

Best. Post. Ever.

Is Grover Norquist really Osama?

Re "Is Grover Norquist really Osama?"
------
Nah, just one of his lowly acolytes.

Osama = Mainstream Democrat

bashing "Neoconservatives"

in every respect except gays,he sounds like he is seeking the Demo nomination

When does he guest blog on Kos?

Or even for Matt Y?

oh, and you say Bush and OBL both owe their wealth to the House of Saud?

I didn't realize Midland TX was in al Arabia, and the Texas Rangers too?

Gatchaman is a contemptable piece of dogshit
OBL would as soon slit his throat as any of ours, but here on Atlantic.com Gman mocks the president - what low scum

RE "you say Bush and OBL both owe their wealth to the House of Saud?"
-------
It's really not fair to compare Bush to Osama Bin Laden.

After all, Bin Laden hasn't killed 3500 of our soldiers in a unnecessary war.

Or crippled thousands more for life and then given them crappy medical care in VA hospital rooms with black mold on the walls.

Nor has Bin Laden stolen $4 Trillion from our Social Security/Medicare accounts in order to give tax cuts, oil deposits, and defense contracts to the superrich.

Have you seen the comments over at the link Don Williams posted? Man are the wingnuts pissed. All talk about traitors and lynch mobs and the enemy within. I don't really fear most of these cowards personally, but sooner or later one of them is going to feel the need to show that he means business.

Re Mike's "Have you seen the comments over at the link Don Williams posted? Man are the wingnuts pissed. All talk about traitors and lynch mobs and the enemy within."
---------
Yeah -- and they ain't talking about Al Qaeda or the Muslims either.

By the way, Jozef. Are you actually a real-life Nazi or is just a coincidence that you have a Nazi sounding name?

Collaboration?
Didn't the US get the video before anybody else?
Certainly some good connections.

One would almost think OBL's intentionally trying to divide us.

"I don't really fear most of these cowards personally, but sooner or later one of them is going to feel the need to show that he means business."

Naah, none of these guys means business.

I went into a bank with a Glock 9mm and body armor. I meant business.

These schucks use the caps lock and exclamation point keys as their weapon of choice.

As Kris Kristofferson once said in a movie, when asked by a henchmen if the henchman should take out the hero, "You couldn't take out a Big Mac and fries!"

OOooooo! The great bogeyman, fresh from his 2004 exhortations to vote for Kerry and Democrats or America would be "severely punished" is back. Tanned and with a nice supply of Grecian Formula.

Once again urging that the American people listen to liberal Democrats....or else.

OOooooo! Pronounce me petrified!

Maybe the naive young Obama will listen to advice - "contro yo 'ho!!" long enough to stop 1st Wife Wannabe's bossy bitching of him to enable him to invade Pakistan and look for the "real problem" - because Osama agrees that the "real problem" is not in Iraq with all the "Cenral Front Jihadis".

"Slap that homegirl upside the head. She making you her bitch, Barack."

Is it all that weird that two warlords want war?

Chris Ford is exhibit A of how OBL's reverse psychology works.
