Now they just need to divide the cost per state by the population of that state to display the average cost per person.
As I commented on the Tapped site:
Are state tax dollars for the Iraq war allocated in a different way from other federal funding? (CAP doesn't say.) If so, then the same map could be used for anything that the federal government is paying for. That makes it less interesting than it might be otherwise.
.
Americans -- including American liberals -- seem to think the whole thing is about America.
Like Hunh?
The big thing in Vietnam was not the 40,000 Americans killed: it was the million or so Vietnamese killed by the free-range bombers of the Senator McCain type.
Heh-heh-heh, he's a hero, so he can run for President... Unlike his father and grandfather, he is a little time-serving piece of shit, a mindless plane jockey who killed on the button without thinking about what he was doing. I'm glad he's still alive so he can suffer a little bit from his wounds: pity he can't suffer for the people he burned and killed out of his plane.
IMHO, the only thing wrong with the dead bodies in Iraq is that none of them has a toe-tag labeled "George W. Bush."
America has gone off the rails. It is no longer true to America.
The Cheney-Bush Administration are subversives who have tried to take over the United States, the City On The Hill, for their own phantasmagorical reasons.
The times are out of joint.
Assholes say there might be a bloodbath if the US were to leave Iraq. Say what??! There is a bloodbath there every day. And precisely because the Bush-Cheney thugs are there.
If American and British troops were to leave, there might be a few odd killings --- but as a gambling man I'm willing to give odds on the numbers. (This makes me sick to my stomach: my bet is that hundreds will be killed instead of the currently lined-up thousands...)

America faces a situation like that which faced Germany in 1946: can it, as a whole people, look back on the evil it has committed, and repent.
The Germans seem, for the most part to have done that. Post-war liberal German culture builds on the old Germany that so gave yeast, thought, and of course great music, to the human race.
The present criminal American culture, so far, does not seem to be, uh, stepping up to the plate;
Americans we like (two of my daughters are American), but America must purge itself of the Bush/neocon Whole Thing before it can come back into the family of nations.
Hey! Don't worry about the cost of the Iraq war. The Democrats have a perfect solution: attach "hate crimes" legislation to the Iraq funding bill!
Here's what's going to happen:
1) bill winds up on Bush's desk
2) Bush vetoes bill
3) Dems pass funding bill without "hate crimes" stuff.
4) Bush signs bill.
Wow! You gotta hand it to those Democrats! What a ballsy anti-war bunch those folks are!
