Not that it would affect her.

Me, I fantasize about returning Ann Coulter to a Bedouin tribe in Saudi Arabia.

Wouldn't it be "provocateuse"? Wait. It's Ann Coulter so probably not...

I believe she would prefer to be referred to as a provocateuse.

To be fair, you've entertained similar ideas.

Julian, your link doesn't work.

Provocatrix?

Proof, as if any were needed, that Ann Coulter is not a woman.
.

To be doubly fair, the "Ann Coulter Doesn't Know What the Fuck She's Talking About" column is already full of checks as it is.

Might as well leave it alone. It'll only result in her getting more hatention, which is what she wants anyway.

Didn't Matt want to advance to a world where men can't vote? Solution: Ann and Matt shouldn't vote.

What Ms (Mr) Coulter needs is a weekend with Clarence Thomas' favorite porn star.

Ann Coulter has said for years that America would be better off if women didn't vote. Nothing new there. But here is something new, her take on the Dems and "phony soldiers": "PRETEND TO BE ALL THAT YOU CAN BE". An excerpt:

"If we are to believe the self-descriptions of callers to talk radio and the typical soldier interviewed on MSNBC, the military is fairly bristling with Moveon.org types.

The reality is quite the opposite [...]

Sometimes liberals get desperate and have to concoct Tawana Brawley veterans."

I see Fred couldn't wait to embrace the "phony soldiers" smear himself. No wonder his party continues to march straight off the cliff.

Hm. If Ann is so offended by women voting why doesn't she just, you know, not vote. That way she not only doesn't continue to perpetuate the thing she hates, she also doesn't have to watch other women doing something she finds so offensive. It's a win-win for all involved.

Man, how tired are your arguments if you're still trying to get mileage out of Tawana Brawley? Hell, I feel like I'm dating myself just by acknowledging I remember who she was.

Glenn, dude, they're still stuck on Chappaquiddick.

Heck, some of them are still stuck on Yalta.

That way, Ann wouldn't have to worry about breaking the law by voting in the wrong precinct.

Remind me again why Coulter and her crowd are opposed to Al Queada? It seems like they share a very similar worldview.

Hmm, maybe that explains why they don't seem to be trying to hard to find OBL.

Instead of wasting blog space and readers' eyes on that Coulter non-entity, how about discussing a serious proposal to let ALL Americans vote, and vote not just for candidates but LAWS:

"Hm. If Ann is so offended by women voting why doesn't she just, you know, not vote."

I don't think Coulter is "offended" by women voting inasmuch as she thinks that (single) women tend to make stupid decisions, and hence are a key constituency for Democrats advocating what Coulter considers to be stupid policies. In this context, it's interesting to note that as women get married and have children, more of them tend to vote Republican.

Coulter would probably be happy if only married women with kids voted.

Which of course doesn't include Ann.

Matt, you realize that the only reason she writes stuff like this is so people like you will give her attention, right?

You're only half right, Tim. The other reason she writes this stuff is because tens of thousands of harebrained jackasses (most of them male) lap it up, buy her books, and drool over her.

I'm not quite sure why it's become so popular in Left Blogistan to crack jokes about Coulter being masculine, though. Out of all the worthy reasons for progressives to mock that vile harpie, her Adam's apple really shouldn't be at the top of the list.

Heck, some of them are still stuck on Yalta.

Is it offside to suggest that some of them may still be stuck on Appomattox?

Not at the top, but it should bob around a bit.

Left Blogistan wants to prove it is just as misogynistic as everyone else. This thread is proving adept that that.

Something must be done about her. Harumph. Harumph. Harumph.

You notice that conservatives only care about sexism when someone calls Ann Coulter a man?

Why do conservatives think she's hot? I can see Michelle Malkin, but Coulter?

Hmmm, if Ms Shrill Blonde Harpy thinks that women shouldn't vote, the easy extension would be that she doesn't want people to listen to women. In the spirit of cooperation I will continue to not listen, to her.

I could be a lot more sympathetic to the commenters who think it's unfair to criticize Coulter for being mannish if it weren't for the fact that she has repeatedly made it clear that she accepts as valid the traditional gender role descriptions, including physical appearance. After all, for chrissakes, this woman called John Edwards a faggot because of his hair. And now it's misogynistic to talk about how she looks like many drag queens I know (just less smartly dressed)? Puhleeze.

Ann's Adam's apple is hot.

I'd hit on Ann but my lack of a functioning man-tool will cause her to run but into the arms of that midget D’Souza.

but = back

Sorry for the typo but it's hard to face up to why I am reduced to being a pathetic right wing troll POS.

Is it offside to suggest that some of them may still be stuck on Appomattox?

I have no problem declaring that some of them are still stuck on Runnymede.

I don't think Ann Coulter is mannish.

Rather, I think that if you put a bridle in her mouth, she would bear a remarkable resemblance to SeaBiscuit.

I also think Ann Coulter looks a little ..er.. "shopworn". But being Bob Guccione's toy will do that.

Been rode hard and put up wet, in SeaBiscuit terms.

Ann Coulter was on Kudlow today with Peter Beinart, who look and sounds like he could be Ezra Klein's older brother. Coulter elaborated on the no woman no vote thing roughly thusly:

She referred to a study by John Lott that whenever women got the right to vote in this country (state by state), government spending went up. Coulter feels this is because women (particularly single women) look to government to play the husband/provider role. She blamed this partly on the divorce rate and men not sticking with their wives. She said that white mens' antipathy to the Democratic Party is the flip side of this, because men, who tend to earn more and create more wealth, are more sensitive to higher taxes.

LaFolletteProgressive is right. Detracting from Coulter's femininity is a silly way of mocking her. It puts the focus straight back on traditional gender norms - in other words, plays to the same ridiculous notions Coulter is espousing.

Mocking Coulter because she's intellectually shallow, bigoted and generally vile, I'm okay with.

I also think Ann Coulter looks a little ..er.. "shopworn". But being Bob Guccione's toy will do that.

Look, I disagree with Coulter as much as the next sane American. And I wouldn't suggest MY is responsible for the asinine comments of some of his commentators. That said, comments like the one I've italicized make Desmond Tutu's comment - about a female prime minister being his pin-up - seem positively enlightened.

Look, I yield to no one in my Coulter-hating. But why take this seriously?

There's was a fraternity at my school that used to haze their pledges by making them protest women's suffrage in the quad. "They've been suffraging long enough!" . . . and whatnot. It was obviously bait for the sanctimonious, and mildly amusing as a bizarro-world spectacle.

The whole idea, of both Coulter and those frat boys, was to get you to join them in making a weird scene . . . and I can't understand the temptation to take that bait.

Can’t an aging fascist hag have some fun?

Ann, Keep spewing the hate, honey… we all love you.!!! We'll get a reallty show at Fox clubbing third world children. What a riot!! to die for, ha ha.. get it? Sooo much fun.

Best,
Your publicist

"Rather, I think that if you put a bridle in her mouth, she would bear a remarkable resemblance to SeaBiscuit."

You’re hardly being fair to SeaBiscuit…

Re erict's comment "You’re hardly being fair to SeaBiscuit…"

You're right. I abjectly apologize to all horses everywhere. Even to the Mongolian ponies.

Al: your comments are really made me laugh--thanks.

Yglesias: can any other blogger claim to have a self-deprecating house troll? Should make you proud!

>>She blamed this partly on the divorce rate and men not sticking with their wives. She said that white mens' antipathy

Translation: black/brown people shouldn't be allowed to vote. But she couldn't get away with saying that in any form, so she disguised it by saying "women" shouldn't be allowed to vote.

She isn't completely stupid. She knows you can get away with bashing faggots, Arabs, and liberals -- but not "the blacks." So she just uses a bunch of code words instead.

Jim, your "translation" is a figment of your own imagination. Rightwingers have just as much right as leftwingers to talk about racial and gender party affiliation disparities. Just because a rightwinger says the word "whites" (and this is the only thing I can find that set you off) doesn't give you carte blanche to make up a whole racist "translation" out of thin air.

"Ann's Adam's apple is hot."

Whilst temporarily appropriating Ann's debate "technique", let me just say:

There are certainly those that would cherish a wallow in her subtle musk of Slo-Gin and Febreeze, and still others who wish to nuzzle her ample Adam's apple, but I'd rather tread the earth's crust in perpetual darkness than waste one taste bud on that frozen wasteland.

@goober,

>>out of thin air.

If it is news to you that Coulter is a racist and routinely makes racist, homophobic, and fascist comments, then I suppose you would play the eternal rightwing victim here. As always.

Defending someone who says "women" shouldn't have the right to vote -- I guess that is par for the course for today's GOP. I suggest you go round up some "ragheads," "welfare queens," "faggots," and "liberals" with Ann and stick them in one of Malkin's longed-for concentration camps -- all the while whining about what victims you are. I guess all of that is coming "out of thin air" as well, not directly from past statements of Coulter and the other GOP "rock stars."
