His blog for The Atlantic is now officially up and running, find all the Clive Crook you want here. His first post says stuff I don't really agree with about Social Security, though at the same time I do think a lot of folks have been harder on Obama's statements than he deserves.

Obama is deliberately parroting an RNC/Russert taalking point. It is factually false--there is no Social Security crisis. He is pandering to the Broderian Village (as well as creating a silly spat with Clinton). He deseves all the blame he is getting.
What Marlowe said.
At this point it is unclear whether Obama simply has not examined the numbers on Social Security, which almost disqualifies him on policy grounds, or whether he has and is Broderizing himself, which from the view of a lot of progressives disqualifies him on political grounds. Either way this wound was self-inflicted and he gets no sympathy from me.
I actually had Crook on my blogroll, but I took it off. He's really really "enh." Well-written Establishment Media.
Marlowe,
How does Obama's proposal imply that there is a "crisis".
Why so many conservative commentators on the Atlantic? I'm sure most of us who read the magazine are more on the liberal side...

How come his name doesn't show up under the "voices" link above?
