Good for him. I think it's tough to hold your employer up to even the most deserved scorn and derision, and in this case scorn and derision are very well deserved.

Your newspaper is pretty bad with that ranting lunatic Krauthammer cleaning the urinals in the building, let alone trying to cogently fabricate the English language under the name of the publication.
Yeah, uh, Jonathan Swift, this ain't. As funny as anything the left can mount these days, though, I guess.
y81, you remember "funny as a crutch," right?
Maybe I'm being obtuse, but Toles doesn't seem to be specifically targeting the Washington Post as much as newspaper/media coverage of the campaign in general. I only read on line now, so I may have missed the Post swtiching their font style from Bodoni to Comic.
There's plausible deniability in this toon that works in both directions. It reminds me the Chris Rock bit on rap lyrics where all misogyny is explained away by "I ain't talkin' about her / He ain't talkin' about me"
I'm fairly certain that Toles is alluding to the recent and infamous Post story about the "rumor" (actually just a lie spread via right-wing email) that Obama is a Muslim. It was all over the blogs, though obviously you can't assume anything about the story's wider currency based only on that.
Oh, I did not realize that their was a recent Post article. I thought it was about similar stuff to that stupid madrassa(sp?) thing that got some air time almost a year ago.
Tom Toles fuckin rocks!
Anyhow, Doonesbury spent all last week lampooning the lies about Obama's "Muslim" background.

So, when do we see your cartoon about Megan McArdle?
I don't know if it's such a good idea for Toles to keep bringing up the vegetarian smear. Even if people don't quite believe it, there's a residual sense left in voters' minds that, hey, doesn't he eat a lot of vegetables or something?

Jesus that is such idiotic logic.
"I don't know if political satire is such a good idea these days..." If you think that's the case, please, move to Canada or something. Or kill yourself.
Er, on second thought, it occurs to me that maybe Barry was being ironic. Heh. I overlooked "the vegetarian smear" the first time. Please tell me you were just being ironic.
You know, I think there really are rumors about Obama being a vegetarian. Someone has landed on my site after Googling "Barack Obama vegetarian" recently.
Uh...Yeah Bill he was being ironic...seemed pretty obvious.
Of course you kind went off the deep end there and told him to kill himself. Take it easy.
Only Petey should be talked to like that because we actually want him to die.
Kenny:
Yeah the Obama thing was outrageous. Go read about it here: http://www.cjr.org/campaign_desk/post_75.php
Right on, Matt. And let's see you show the same gumption toward your current employer when circumstances merit it.

Your newspaper is pretty bad when even the editorial cartoonist lampoons it.
