If for some reason yesterday's link to my BloggingHeads.TV appearance with Ross didn't entire you, you can check out this excerpt that got picked up by The New York Times.

You write about whether your link yesterday "didn't entire" us. WTF is that supposed to mean?

Entice us?

Every day NYT.com has a different bloggingheads piece up on the opinion page. I'm not sure what you're trying to say here about your most recent work.

Anyone else want to get together and hire Matt a scribe for Christmas?

The NYT writing Bloggers Matthew Yglesias, left, and Ross Douthat, both of the Atlantic reminds me a bit of this.

Are there no blowjob capable interns at the Atlantic to do proofreading?

I think Matt meant to say "tire you" - which of course it did.

So naturally he posts an excerpt from it.

Crackerjack thinking.

Crackerjack.

Ehh. Yglesias has some of the best content on Bloggingheads, but some of the worst delivery. The kind of low mumbling sets you up for the high pitch screeching. He's better read than listened to.

Douthat has kind of the opposite problem. Evenhanded delivery that makes you think, that guy is pretty reasonable (even if he seems to have a stick up his ass). But then you parse what he's saying and you find him either saying something so obvious that it's not worth debating, or something so silly that he will quickly back down from.

THis whole day has entired me.

It's like empower, but instead of giving you power, you give fatigue. THe world is crying out for this word. Thank you Matt. You've enknowledged me.

Man, Douthat has one dorky sweater on. Matt's doing a good job with the squeaky high-pitched liberal voice.

Based on what I see here, Matt's book is going to get into Ripley's " Believe It or Not " or the Guinness Book of World Records for spelling errors:-).
The problem MAY be that the Atlantic interns are being hired SOLELY for their blow job capabilities. they need to hire someone with actual secretarial talent....

I don't know what you all are bitching about. I wish I was entired. When I finally reach entirement, I'm going to Disneyland.

Ask Mr. Douthat about the horrible difference in biographica ads in the Bush/Gore election
Bush: layabout, drunk, business failure, come-to-Jesus moment, governor of Texas.
Gore: "Long legislative history" (a la Douthat speaking of McCain), great success as VP in a popular adminstration.

That bio ad really won the election for Gore. :)

For those commenting on Matt's "squeaky" voice, do note that he and McMegan are forming the "Blog Chipmunks" discussion group.

They need a third one to play "Alvin."
