Did I just watch Mitt Romney explain that voters wouldn't respect a politician who changes his beliefs when it's politically convenient? Hilarious. He really should have just become a Baptist.

The Romney campaign is fascinating. Or at least, the media coverage of it is fascinating. It seems to be a game of "just how much can a candidate get away with while the Republican base doesn't notice?" I know that the wonk class in DC loves the guy (he is reportedly very smart and on top of issues) but I cannot see him competing for the redneck vote well at all. He's a Mormon pro-choice governor from Massachusetts! Oh, right, he's not pro-choice any more.
Who actually thinks Romney can win?
I'm still trying to figure out why "freedom requires religion".
Yeah, the homeless black men at my laundromat were listening to Glenn Beck on the radio (yeah, I have no idea either), and I laughed out loud when he quoted Romney as saying that. Outrageous!

Why can't you accept that Mitt had a genuine change of heart, and is now from Iowa.
His decision to have his name changed to Ronald Reagan Jr. was also motivated one-hundred percent by personal conviction.
Who needs to be calculating when your sincere convictions just happen to match up with whichever audience you're addressing at any given time?
Was it George Burns who said that what matters is sincerity - and if you can fake that, you're home free?

Matt, clearly you have no understanding of what it means to have true, devoutly religious beliefs of recent origin.
