Stop Shoppin'

As you may have heard, we've had a bit of a scandal here in DC where it turns out that some officials with the District's tax authority have been ripping the city off for years to the tune of tens of millions of dollars. Or as the DC Examiner sees it, we've learned that women like to shop (men, of course, don't shop with our money; we just spend it buying things). Maybe if the mayor had just invested in one of these "control a woman" remote controls we wouldn't have these problems?

I suppose it's just a coincidence that a male D.C. clinic founder convicted of defrauding Medicaid was ordered to turn over his Porsche just yesterday.

I thought this was gonna be another Winona Ryder joke.

I'm convinced she was framed, by the way. She made the mistake of going outside the store to smoke, got nailed, then was nailed by the D.A. for the previous mistake of wearing "Free Leonard Peltier" buttons to major movie events (the D.A. is the son of an FBI agent and was elected based on not being "soft on celebrities" like his predecessor was allegedly on Bob Downey, Jr.)

Then she made the equal mistake of hiring Mark Garegos as her lawyer, who's more of a spin doctor than a criminal trial attorney. I could have done a better job of handling her case. If she'd had Johnny Cochran or somebody on that level, she'd have got off.
