Rather, "the white male is the Jew of liberal fascism". Which, of course, is why they had to open all those concentration camps back when Bill Clinton was president.

What's really interesting is that fascism thrives when a powerful and privileged majority convinces itself that it is being persecuted by a minority that is, in fact, relatively powerless. And here we have one Jonah Goldberg, decrying the persecution of white males at the hands of female elementry school teachers eating whole-grain bread. And, well, there you pretty much have it. Jonah's the real fascist. I mean, this is basically an open-and-shut case, no?

No kidding, when the new Denver airport was being built in the 90's, there were rumors everywhere that a huge underground concentration camp was built beneath it. That's where Clinton and the New World Order folks were going to put real American patriots, see.

The debate surrounding this incredibly dumb book reminds me of a conversation I had in third grade. The assignment was to write a "newspaper article" about a book we read. Another student insisted on using the phrase "the trio of four." And I said, trio means three. And she said, that's why I added "of four." And I said, well, that just doesn't make any sense, because the ONLY thing trio means is 3.
My belabored point is that this reminds me of the phrase "liberal fascism." Fascism is the opposite of liberalism. Fascists - real fascists - despise liberals more than anybody else. There is no such thing as liberal fascism because there cannot be. At its core, the phrase is pure nonsense. Not to say liberals can't be stupid and dangerous (we frequently are), but the one thing you really can't call us is fascist.

It's painful to view. I used to feel embarassed watching the sappiness of Leave it to Beaver. Reviewing Goldberg's utter nonsense somehow evokes a painful feeling in me.

The vocabulary and cadence of this sentence keeps making me think it's anti-Semitic, even though it's not. It's like something you'd get if you played Mad Libs with Goebbels.
The white male is the target/victim of liberal fascism.
What he's getting at is that liberals try to fix unfairness.
Since we white men are the most privileged group in our society, we have been surrendering some of our prerogatives.
His premise has some truth, but it's couched in sloppy, deliberately provocative language.
And it's ironic that a Jew would write a book diminishing the the viciousness of fascism (the quintessential liberal fascist is a grade school teacher with a degree from Swarthmore or Brown).

That's certainly how it's perceived (and indeed most Jews in this country are white ... e.g., my non-white fiancee sure stuck out like a sore thumb at the Jewish singles event where we meant), but are that many Israelis really all that much "whiter" than their Arab neighbors?
Some on the right no doubt support Israel for racist reasons and some on the left seem to reflexively oppose Israel as a "white colonialist enterprise". Some on the left (and we saw this with South Africa too) are concerned about Israel because deep-down they are racists who think "white people should know better". But do these prejudices reflect reality?

This better be a career-killing book. Goldberg in person isn't charismatic or bug-eyed enough to be able to pull off being a Coulter or a Malkin and getting on Good Morning America. He's now more like a lamer version of Michael Savage. There is no market for this guy except for that Brown grad law school good someone in the other thread went to school with. Looks like the National Review will have likely seen another one of their own have no career once they leave the mag because of a beyond retarded book (D'Souza already is not longer a fellow at Stanford's conservative Hoover Institution). At this point, he's the kid eating his own boogers on the short bus. He probably thought the girl yelling at him that he was gross was a fascist too. To anybody's who's read this shit: is there any evidence whatsoever that Goldberg has read any of the rather extensive scholarly literature on fascism? Goldberg's definition of "fascism" seems to bear no relationship to any of the theoretical discussions of fascism that I'm familiar with. My guess is he's read Burke on the French Revolution, and Hayek, and that's about the extent of his background readings.

I'm starting to feel sorry for him. All pundits have to have a book and so he had to write one, but this one is so absurd and the zietgiest for crazy rightwing books peaked about 3 years ago. I guess he had a hard time getting it done. It's definitely career serious injury if not career death. I can't believe his friends let him do this.

I'll only comment that I understand what he's trying to say here - but, God, that is a really STUPID way to say that white males are being discriminated against.
At the very least, the hardcore Zionists will be enraged and accuse him of being a "self-hating Jew" because he's diminishing the importance of the Holocaust by comparing it the comparatively tame discrimination against white males.
Not to mention that a ton of other people have argued that case much better - not to mention not pinning it on political "liberals" in general. I assume any number of conservative writers have done so, so he's obviously drawing on that base.
I have no objection to calling most liberals I'm aware of "fascist", despite not being technically historically correct, as I've said before here, but trying to tie this politically correct cultural denigration of white males to political fascism is off the rails.
The whole point of Johah Goldberg's demonization of liberals is that liberals are not dangerous - they are a scapegoat. Jonah Goldberg is the real fascist.
