Attack Politics, French Style

14 Jan 2008 12:42 pm

Via Blake Hounshell, ex-wife Cécelia's view of French President Nicholas Sarkozy:

President Nicolas Sarkozy's ex-wife Cécilia has branded him a "stingy philanderer" with a "behavioural problem" who is an "unworthy president" of France... Mrs Sarkozy alleged that her 52-year-old ex-husband was "a man who likes no-one, not even his children".

Seems rougher, even, than anything Robert Johnon's putting out there.

Oh, she should just take the whole matter with more dignity. Then maybe she too can run for president 10 years from now.

Not if you are African American it isn't.

I am shocked, shocked to learn that a person can hold an unfavorable opinion of an ex-spouse.

"I'm Hillary Clinton and I approved this slam against dysfunctional marriages like my own"

Jon Corzine's ex-wife did something similar prior to his election as governor in 2005.

Sarkozy does have a fondness for neocons and Israel. I'm with the ex - he does look like a turd.

See also: any one of Guiliani's 12 ex-wives (specifically, the most recent one), or his children, or anybody not being paid by him...

This from a woman who posed for photos with her lover while her husband was running for office.

And when she refers to his "children," she's talking about his kids by his first wife - he abandoned their mother for her. I'm sure they appreciate having their relationship with their dad dragged in the mud by the woman who took him away from them.

Obviously we have no way of knowing for sure, but what if her description is simply correct?

His new wife, or fiancee, or whatever, Italian model Carla Bruni, is, as Ricky Bobby might say, smokin' hot.

Maybe the ex-Madame Sarkozy is feeling the old jealousy.

Still haven't seen Clinton in a bikini, like Segolene Royal.

Thank God.

No wonder Giuliani's such a fan.
