New England and Green Bay are favored to win, and I think I have nothing to add to the conventional wisdom on this score. But make your case for the Chargers or Giants if you're so inclined.

Brady looks like shite through 2 series so far.
...he says, as Brady throws a pick.
He does look awful, doesn't he? Frankly, I've never bought into all the "perfect team" garbage you hear being tossed around about the Pats. Don't get me wrong - they are good, very good, this season has been completely impressive. But I don't think they are unstoppable; I just think they have had the good fortune not to be stopped SO FAR. It might be probable that they won't be this season. But watching the way Brady panics when he starts feeling a bit of pressure ... and having seen them pull out a few close ones near the end of the regular season... they could be stopped.
The right team just needs to get the right shot at 'em. I hope my Pack gets their chance...
As for the other match-up? I'm about an hour south of Green Bay and its -1 right now, not counting wind chill.... and its not gonna get any warmer. The Pack has an excellent record in this kind of weather ... Eli, if I remember right, has a dismal one. We have the best stadium in football filled to overflowing with the best fans in football. The conditions are just right.
Welcome to Lambeau, bitches. Game on. :)
On the other hand, they're playing in Green Bay. In arctic cold. Conditions like that always favor Green Bay.
Green Bay in general, and Bret Favre in particular, played god-awful in their second Chicago earlier this season under similar conditions to today.
Ahem.
Go Bolts! Go Giants!
Thank you.

Re: "The conditions are just right." As someone who lived 3 decades in WI and 2 in NYC, I would say you don't even have to bother to watch the game. Tri-state people are wimps in this regard. (I am one now, I like being wimpy and have even regained the ability to shiver.)

That game at Soldier Field WAS godawful, but the conditions were nothing like they are today. The problem that day was not so much the cold (I'm sure it was warmer than it will be tonight) so much as the wind. We were getting 40 mph + gusts, and they made throwing effectively nearly a non-option.
As cold as its gonna be tonight, winds are only supposed to be in the 5 mph range.
Besides, even counting the Chicago game, the Packers are something like 42-5 in games played below the freezing mark. I'll take those odds.

I sure hope you're right! But not watch the game? I'm not sure thats physically possible living in this area, even if I were inclined to do it. The whole state will be shutting down around 5 pm tonight ... hell, theres prolly a law making games like this mandatory viewing on the books here somewhere.... :)

In a nutshell, why I left Wisconsin. :-) Enjoy, Na'Zdrowie, careful over dare not to O.D. on da brats, cheese soup and Brett Favre cookies. I get to have a Sunday evening free of family phone calls! Yeah!
Chargers are hanging in there at halftime, but they haven't been able to score a touchdown despite several clear opportunities. That doesn't bode well.
If the Giants can pressure Favre, they could easily upset the Packers. The commentators don't ever say it, but if Favre takes a couple hits he always gets jittery and plays like crap for the rest of the game.
wtfwtfwtfwtfwtfwtfwtf
I have an incredibly compelling case to make for the Giants!

Huge Giants fan, but I have to admit that whether or not the boys in blue can pull it off depends on which team shows up. They have been so inconsistent that it is hard to make a good case for my team.
