Two weeks ago the TV talking heads would have been talking about how good this was for Rudy.

ALL HAIL CAESAR!!

McCain is the key to the media narrative. It works with either Clinton or Obama.

Not since Teddy Roosevelt tamed the Cubans has an American hero tamed the wild Southlands like John McCain has done tonight.

What's the life expectancy for a 73 year-old in failing health who works 60 hours a week?

The GOP Veep slot is going to matter.

And not just for reasons pertaining to ticket-balance.

I love this. GOP is going to nominate someone NYT endorsed and Rush rejected! oooooooohhh, yeahhhhhhhhhh ...

This IS excellent for Rudy. Feinting like he was running in Florida, while keeping his eyes on the prize - the big Hawaii primary, for which he is going to be charging his campaign for some primo hotel suites as he draws on his strong security posture - has positioned him so excellently there might not need to be an election at all. We should just call the big guy and hand him the keys to the White House! Maybe he could make Fred Thompson's wife his vice president. I think Rudi could get into that.
ps - oh, and then there is the Cancun expatriates primary. I forgot about Rudi's strong presence there.

Now the ball is in the Democrats' court. It's simple. Nominate Clinton, and lose in November. Nominate Obama, and win in November.

Seems like an easy decision to me.

Nick,that's a depressing thought.

When you put it that way, OF COURSE they're going to nominate Clinton.

Not since Teddy Roosevelt tamed the Cubans has an American hero tamed the wild Southlands like John McCain has done tonight.

Funny you should mention Cubans, Ben. According to CNN's exit poll, McCain carried the Cuban vote 54% to Rudy's 32%, with Romney a distant 9%. Among the category CNN described as "Non-Hispanic", McCain and Romney tied at 33% each.

The hard part will be finding tickets to attend the coronation. (Obviously, the royal guard will be a virtual army of Kagans.)
