Prediction

I think Kansas will beat Virginia Tech, but the real winner of the Orange Bowl will be John McCain as the merest thought of football reminds voters of his toughness.

But Ron Paul has already won the (FedEx) Orange Bowl and the BCS National Championship game.

Just ask his supporters.

I am forced to assume that this is a joke.

Actually, Ron Paul is the only one who hasn't sold out to the BCS trans-collegiate athletic union that is co-opting our future under its mantle. Ron Paul will return the goalposts to the front of the end zone where they belong.

Tech will chew up Kansas and spit them out.

And it will be the second game Kansas plays against a real competitor this year. With the same result.

CNN projects Huckabee, which is a huge shock because I had penned in Ron Paul an Iowa victory.

What is wrong with Iowa?

I predict a Kansas victory-- not just because they're currently ahead, but because VA Tech really isn't that good.

I also predict a perfect three-way tie between Obama, Clinton, and Edwards, which means that the BCS computers will select John McCain as the nominee for both parties.

Hey, does Diebold own the BCS, or is it the other way around? ;-)

Rock Chalk! Jayhawk!

Hey Davebo, nice call!

Then John Edwards must be the real winner at the Pink Bowl, right?

So, I have to ask...

What exactly is Rock Chalk? And why do Kansans keep chanting about it?

[/asportual male]

I'm not sure what rock chalk is, but Kansans seem to smoke a hell of a lot of it.

Ron Paul is Hawaii in this BCS.

KU's world famous Rock Chalk Chant evolved from a cheer that a chemistry professor, E.H.S. Bailey, created for the KU science club in 1886. Bailey's version was "Rah, Rah, Jayhawk, KU" repeated three times. The rahs were later replaced by "Rock Chalk," a transposition of chalk rock, the name for the limestone outcropping found on Mount Oread, site of the Lawrence campus.

From www.ku.edu/about/traditions/chant.shtml

"KU's world famous Rock Chalk Chant evolved from a cheer that a chemistry professor, E.H.S. Bailey, created for the KU science club in 1886. You know what, even if this is true, it still doesn't make any fucking sense.
