Will Blog for Beer

I'd like to note that not only is The Washington Independent generously providing me with beer, pizza, and a place to watch the State of the Union, but its launch today is the most exciting event in journalism since The Atlantic started hiring bloggers.

Judging from the site, it looks like The Washington Independent is actually commissioning illustration from real illustrators (Matt Mahurin's one of the most renowned) and, not only that, but daring to run it at larger-than-thumbnail sizes!.

I therefore agree: its launch today is the most exciting event in journalism since The Atlantic started hiring bloggers. For me, anyway.
