Some have wondered where all the Wire blogging has gone. The answer is that it's gone over here and become a dialogue with some other worthy folks. Meanwhile, The Onion has the scoop on the biggest scandal in Wire commentary.

While we're complaining, the lack of timestamps is annoying - a lot of the points made depend on how far into the season the commenter is when s/he made it.
Interesting stuff, though.
All the discussion in this edition took place over e-mail yesterday, for what it's worth.
On a side note about the wire, has anybody else noticed the wire actors showing up on the Law & Order franchise? This week it was Nikki Sobotka and Michael, next week it's Rawls.
Thanks, Kriston - that wasn't clear from the intro. I thought it was going to be more of a Slate-style back and forth, rather than a round-up of emails.
I caught that, david. It's not the first time.
I saw an episode last year with Omar and Namond in the same episode.
And Rawls is going to be on next week's L&O as a closeted gay politician.
A lot of those guys have been on Law and Order several times going back to well before The Wire, Rawls for example.
Daniels has been a Kenyan Soldier, FBI agent, Morgue technician (I actually think he had a somewhat recurring role as this for a couple years). Bunk was a Nigerian prince running a scam in an old episode!
If you watch old Homicide episodes a lot of them show up also.
I had back surgery in Decmeber and spent about 3 weeks at home doing nothing so watched a lot of TV. When you catch a few Law and Orders in random order it can be strange seeing the same actor in very different parts from one episode to the next, a guy may have been a murderer sometime in '96 and is a defense lawyer in '01. Sometimes I wonder if the TNT programmers look for stuff like that and put them in order as an inside joke. Something to keep the job interesting.
