Wolfson's Sweater

14 Jan 2008 12:03 pm

In addition to commenting on more significant issues, I wondered on primary night why Howard Wolfson was dressed so shabily on the night of the New Hampshire primary. Ryan Lizza's reporting offers a potential explanation (emphasis added): "According to sources on her campaign team, if Clinton had lost in New Hampshire, several senior advisers, including her communications director, Howard Wolfson, were planning to offer their resignation, and Clinton was prepared to skip the next two contests, Nevada and South Carolina, a decision that could have ceded all the momentum, and even the nomination, to Obama."

Was it a resigning sweater? Rest assured that this blog will stay on the case in a half-assed way.

A resigning sweater? Hmmmm, I remember having "I'm probably going to get laid tonight" clothes. Always wanted to avoid excessive layering or anything with complicated buckles or fasteners.......

That's a shame. Wolfson is pretty obnoxious. Not as bad as Terry McAuliffe, but close.

lizza, rynan writes (in the new yorker, no less):

"According to sources on her campaign team, if Clinton had lost in New Hampshire . . . "

puh-leez! this is getting beyond tiresome. "sources on her campaign team" could mean anything from an envelope-stuffing volunteer koffee klatch (god bless 'em) to the big bubba himself.

at this point, every pathetic hack trying to make a buck writing about the primaries is wildly projecting her/his own pathological fantasies onto the clinton campaign, in particular, and justifying his/her neurotic compulsion (and/or need to file something, ANYTHING, to collect a paycheck) w/ extraordinarily vague sources.

give it up. anybody naive enough to pay this bottom-feeder gossip any credence deserves to get ron paul for president, if not a 30% national sales tax -- which somehow seems to get overlooked in blather about mormonism vs. traditional fundamentalists of the hate-your-neighbor-and-nuke-the-towel-heads variety of religious experience.

and i still think howard's sweater reeked of an admirable anti-cool.

"Was it a resigning sweater?"

Kudos for noting this whole thing, Matthew.

Of all of Team Clinton this cycle, Wolfson is one of the few for whom my respect has actually grown instead of shriveling.

I am unable to form an opinion on this at all until I see a picture of the sweater.

"I am unable to form an opinion on this at all until I see a picture of the sweater."

Petey delivers!

And if you want Howard Wolfson sweater porn video, here ya' go.
