DC

Looks like Obama's got about seventy-five percent of the vote in Washington, DC.

DC doesn't count, because it's got the government. Hillary's won all the states with people instead of governments.

Not a state. Doesn't count.

No no no. DC doesn't count because it's not a state, remember?

Oh, and a lot of black people live there. Doesn't count, I tell you.

Obviously he was going to win D.C., because he's the establishment candidate.

Oh, and a lot of black people live there. Doesn't count, I tell you.

I can see Clinton people chanting: Doesn't count, doesn't, doesn't count!

Obama is clearly too black. Or not black enough. He can only defeat the GOP if he's juuuuuuust right.

It's a duplicate state: he's already won in a place named after the same guy, so it doesn't count.

Hopemongers.

On the subject of states that don't count, I started reading Talkleft a couple of weeks ago through a link here, and the denialism is pretty jaw-dropping.

But clearly I don't read enough lefty blogs, because there seems to be some kind of interesting backstory involving Armando/Big Tent Democrat parting ways with DKos on unfriendly terms. Could somebody fill me in?

Great line on Wonkette, of all places, summarizing Obama's speech:

Still, as Leon on Curb Your Enthusiasm would say: “Barack Obama motherfucker, president of tappin that ass.”

Not that DC counts, but I read earlier today that Obama might receive ALL delegates if he breaks 70%. Any truth to that?

It doesn't count if you get over 69%

DC doesn't count because Hillary lived there. Oh wait...

More good news, Donna Edwards is winning in the 4th (55% to 42%).

Completely unrelated fun fact:

There will be 94 pledged delegates at stake in Wisconsin and Hawaii next week. That happens to be exactly two-thirds of the pledged delegates at stake in Ohio (141).

And Uno the beagles wins Best in Show!!!

sorry... wrong blog

I have it on good authority that when they came to tell Hillary she got tripled up, she put her fingers in her ears and went, "nyah nyah nyah nyah."

Ergo, doesn't count.

Obama would have to be less than half black not to be too black, or more than half black to be black enough. As it is, he's neither.

I thought that line up as a joke, but the more I think about it, it almost makes sense...

For someone who is supposed to be ready on day one, she doesn't have much of a plan for any day after February 2nd, now does she?

Clinton campaign announces that the results from Washington don't count, because, as its name indicates, Washington Doesn't Count - hence DC. Maryland doesn't count because Mary isn't Hillary, while Virginia can't possibly count because the name has misogynist overtones that demean female sexuality.

Hillary Clinton - ready on day one, and one day only. Please, donate now to see this unique show. No repeat performances.

@maraschion

Washington DC = Washington Doesn't Count is the best line of the night.

No shit.

In other news: Koffler, is that you?

You should see what that idiot BigTentDemocrat is trying to prove after Obama won in Maryland. Apparently, white people won't vote for a black man. To which I say: Maine, Iowa, Nebraska. I wish someone would get BTD to take his meds!

DC has some sort of complicated delegate allocation process that doesn't even involve Congressional districts, so it doesn't count.

No shit.

That site has become a complete joke the last few months.

Armando posts here sometimes, so maybe he could fill you in. My understanding is that Kos told him to stop being so rude to other posters or he would get banned. Armando felt like he was being censored and left. Something like that.

I blame Taylor Marsh, myself. Armando was a perfectly normal, obnoxious idiot before she corrupted him and made him a rabid Hillarian.

Hey Munz, what's up?

Get ready to hear the following from the Clinton campaign (via The Politico):

“In Michigan, all of us had a chance to leave our names on the ballot – I chose to do so,” she continued. “My opponents ran a very vigorous campaign to get people to vote ‘uncontested.’ There was a campaign going on – it was a campaign against me, and I still won a majority.

There's now a very good chance that Hillary Clinton is incapable of making up the difference in pledged delegates. She's going to attempt to steal the election using MI, FL, and super delegates. I think the super delegates are smarter than that (they probably would've already endorsed if they were unconcerned with the pledged total), and will legitimize the winner of pledged delegates with overwhelming support. If Senator Clinton does succeed, however, it will be incumbent on all of us to take her (and her supporters) down and finally exercise this cancer from our beloved Democratic Party. I don't envision this happening, but I'd simply like to warn any Clinton supporters reading this that if Hillary attempts such a maneuver, the "Free" Democratic Party will be forced to euthanize her candidacy.

Oh, and get ready for cringe-worthy pandering, such as the following:

—Clinton said she eats hot peppers because “years ago, I was told that hot peppers would keep me healthy.”

– “Jalapenos, banana peppers – any kind of hot peppers,” she said. “I eat them raw, I eat them cooked. I don’t whether it’s for everybody, but it’s worked for me."

How stupid does she think we are? Answer: pretty damn stupid.

I was wondering what Taylor Marsh's spin would be. Here it is:

"But how many large states has he won? Illinois. It's not enough."

I mean, wow. There were three exceptionally large states in play, and two of them were New York and Illinois.

The Taylor Marsh/BTD theory seems to be that MA and NJ are big states but MO, GA, VA, etc aren't, even though they're all about the same size. I want to be charitable, but I can't for the life of me figure out any way to make sense of this argument except as a claim that black votes don't count.

You should see what that idiot BigTentDemocrat is trying to prove after Obama won in Maryland.

Well, he was declaring the Obama campaign over on the night of Super Tuesday. So whatever he's smoking, it's fucking potent. BigJointDemocrat, more like.

Apparently, the TalkLefters' calculations come down to this: if Hillary wins TX, OH by 20pts, and then PA, then she deserves the nomination. NC isn't worth shit, because there are too many black voters for it to count.

Obviously, that would likely fuck Ohio for the general election, even though the Hillary campaign would park there for months on end.

It's just fucking bizarro land in those threads. Daniel's right: it's the 'black = 3/5 of a person' line for the 21st century.

When is someone going to ask Hillary and Bill why they keep losing? or more importantly, why they keep losing by 20 plus points?

Apparently, BTD sez he's an Obama supporter. It seems like he's more of an Obama concern troll.

BTB = Be TarDed (yeah, it took me a while to think that up)

Just an idle thought, but Wynn going down to Edwards last night has to be a good reminder to at least the elected superdelegates that you cannot alienate large portions of who should be your core supporters and expect to keep your job.

In other words, it is no joke for these folks that Clinton has put herself in the position of having to argue that the views of groups such as black voters, "red state" Democrats, and "party activists" should be discounted, maybe even ignored, in the nomination process. Many of the elected superdelegates could be committing career suicide if they support such a notion.

After yesterday my sense is that HRC's "base" is down to Latino women over 60 and people in Michigan who voted for her when they had no other candidates on the ballot.

After Wisconsin, even that may erode.

And may I add that I am really, really looking forward to what spin that gasbag Mark Penn is going to put on yesterday's epic ass-kicking.

Go ahead, Mark. Explain Virginia. Tell me all about the frickin' microtrends there.

I was wondering what Taylor Marsh's spin would be.
That's easy:
Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C. do not count because Taylor Marsh did not say Simon says.

That site has become a complete joke the last few months.

I love how they insist that everyone say that this race is "essentially tied."

Someone needs to tell the Giants to share the Super Bowl trophy with the Patriots because they were "essentially tied."

predictions for Wisconsin &/ Hawaii anyone?

So whatever he's smoking, it's fucking potent. BigJointDemocrat, more like

LOL...

My only prediction for WI/HI is that the Clinton campaign will say they don't matter.

Or they will ignore them completely.
