Didn't Quentin Tarantino already make this movie? "Planet Terror", one of the two movies of "Grindhouse".

No, Maynard, Tarantino simply helped establish the genre of "Hot Female Amputees With Weapons On Their Stubs". This movie simply carries the honored genre forward.

Whoa! Me too. Looks like a more commercialized Tetsuo, kind of.

Don't sit too close to Den Beste at the theater!

Also, Tarantino didn't direct Planet Terror, it was Robert Rodriguez.

Holy Moley, Captain Marvel, we never had to deal with this...this...gotta barf!

Looks like Charles Bronson on steroids.

... and her sidekick Hello Kitty of Blood.

Too reminiscent of the worst excesses of the French Revolution.

Looks like the unholy spawn of Tarantino, John Woo, and Carl Hiaasen.

This looks almost as good as Meatball Machine!

This one has Oscar written all over it!

Too cool for school.

If you want crazy revenge flicks without the corny factor, try Oldboy.

I would go see this movie too.

I would go see this movie too. Hilarious!

This was on Boingboing about three months ago. You're falling behind on your internet memes, Matt.

The Zeitgeist is a cruel mistress.

Given their incredibly high blood pressure, how is it these people don't just spontaneously explode?

I kinda love how the whole "transparent fear of nuclear weapons" subtext of Japanese cinema ended up being supplanted by "transparent fear of adolescents". I guess that would make Akira the inflection point.

I wish you had posted a "not appropriate for adult female viewers over 50 years of age who are squeamish" warning.

I don't think I'll be seeing it! I like most of your links, but I didn't need to see this one. :-)

I like how this post is classified under "Foreign Policy."

Not steroids - some sort of sex change drug. With anti-aging oxidants.

Cranky

The tempura attachment is obviously the superior choice.

Two words: Drill bra!

Not my sort of thing. Indeed, this sort of thing makes me pretty queezy...too close to what that VTech shooter wrote up in his plays. And I like movies with good historical violence. But why bring it close to everyday life?

A little A-Team editing + concepts from Robocop and Evil Dead 2 + martial arts = Awesome!

The only reason Matt would see this is that it is about a girl killing a bunch of men with a drill bra. He sees some sort of "feminist critique of the Japanese patriarchy" in this -- or, at least, that is what he tells his girlfriend in an effort to score brownie points.

Am I right or am I right?

Ugh. No thanks. I gave up drink and drugs, so this one is out for me.
You know, I was assuming that 2 girls 1 cup thing was Japanese, but since I haven't actually seen it, it was things like this that made me think that -- Japan the only country more uptight than the USA, with proportionally more disgusting fetishes.

One of those "so bad it's got to be brilliant" movies!

Nothing like schlock Asian martial arts movies!

I started watching Chinese kung-fu films back in the early 70's when the invasion first came in. They were better than this, but not in some cases. Actually, not in a lot of cases.

But the Japanese are the real masters of schlock. Their Sonny Chiba and other ninja/samurai schlock movies are the bomb. (Note: I'm not referring to classics like "Seven Samurai" or "Yojimbo" - the basis of Western classics like "The Magnificent Seven" or "Fistful of Dollars".)

But, today, there's no substitute for Summer Glau in "Terminator - The Sarah Connor Chronicles"! Especially now that they're setting her up to "go bad"!

Nothing like a good girl gone bad!

Saw it in 2002 at the Philly Film Festival.I have no idea where you'd find it though.
