Rae for Obama

21 Feb 2008 10:05 am

Jason Rae, the 21 year-old superdelegate, is endorsing Obama. His statement cites Obama's tremendous appeal to young people and the potential that he can mobilize a new generation of activists. No word on whether or not the Obama campaign listened to the pundits and deployed Scarlett Johansson as a surrogate.

It must be because Obama just won the Democrats Abroad primary...number 11 in a row. Does he get half a delegate for that or what?

Far too young. Doesn't count.

Apropos your "wink wink nod nod" comment above, Jason Rae is gay, has been out for several years.

Yeah, the Advocate ran an article recently. He's gay:

Fair point, but I still think he'd rather hang out with Scarlett Johansson.

Did they promise him a job for his vote?

At the risk of being catty the Obama campaign should deploy Scarlett Johansson to Bill Clinton.

Fair point, but I still think he'd rather hang out with Scarlett Johansson.

Maybe Obama, savvy to the preferences of America's youth, sent Jake Johannsen instead:

Maybe Matt Damon instead of Scarlett.

The whole impersonation thing is getting older and more desperate than Bob Dole.

One of my former best friends spent the day (or a day, but I think it was Monday) right before Super Tuesday driving Ms. Johanson around Minneapolis. Dude wasn't even into politics in 2004 when I joined Team Obama. Mind you, I'm in Korea, but it's still not fair.

Wasn't the whole anti-democratic concept of super delegates invented by the Democratic Party's politburo to prevent the grassroots whippersnappers from nominating another McGovern? If so, then why make a 21 year old a super delegate?

The "Jake" they should have sent would be Jake Gyllenhaal.

Actually, Scarlett travelled around Iowa during the caucuses. She turned the entire Grinnell Basketball team into Obama supporters and probably singlehandedly won Iowa.

The counting seems to have taken quite a while, but I think the actual voting happened on Super Tuesday. So, it doesn't count as 11-in-a-row, unless you also want the much-delayed New Mexico announcement (eventually called for Clinton) to break up the 11-in-a-row.
