Uhm, isn't there an off-setting credit on the individual side? That was the Bush administration proposal. It is a capped credit, so I suppose that it is a tax increase of sorts.

This is straight talk because McCain refuses to raise income taxes. Poor people don't pay taxes because FICA and Medicare/Medicaid don't count as income taxes. The untaxed compensation at issue would be a tax on wages, not income. See?
