Superdelegates: Pay Attention!

26 Feb 2008 11:12 am

Campaign season is getting to people:

Authorities said brother-in-laws Jose Ortiz and Sean Shurelds were involved in a verbal altercation over Democratic presidential hopefuls Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton when the argument escalated into a stabbing inside their family home on Honey Locust Court in Upper Providence.

My extended family, too, is a house divide. Thus the urgent need for the primaries to get wrapped up before Passover lest this tragedy repeat itself. In all seriousness, though, Marc Ambinder has a bunch of reporting to suggest that the race is unlikely to drag on into April. My predictions are always wrong, but it looks like Obama will win Texas and Clinton will be forced to drop out.

Noooo! Endorsement of DOOOOOOM!!1!

Damn it, Matt, now you've jinxed him.

Noooo! Prediction of DOOOOOOM!!1!

Come on, Matt. Call another Hillary win for us. Pretty please?

It's Petey's support which is the real killer. He's backing Nader now.

Seriously, wtf? If I have to put up with two more months of this damn race now, I'm blaming you Yglesias.

That was totally uncalled for.

Calm down everyone, I presume Matt is still predicting a Clinton win in Ohio.

Matt, what the hell have you done?

but it looks like Obama will win Texas and Clinton will be forced to drop out.

You just ruined my day.

Now I have to get used to the idea of President Hillary Clinton.

What did they pay you, Matt? Did she have to "loan" herself more money?

Is he really? Wow.

I imagine the rising passion of the campaign will elevate Matt's typos to the heights of Delphic prophecy. Cats will wind 'round his ankles while supplicants leave bronze bowls of olives...

If this stretches to Passover, Matt'll be in trouble. That young lady is backing him down, with a drink in her hand.

My god, kid, can you write a single blog post without at least one ridiculous typo?

I thought, perhaps, your house is French, and it's been dee-veed-ay by the primaries and you were unable to add the accent, but in fact, divider is not a French verb.

PASSOVER?

Look again at the article re the stabber -- that ain't a Jewish surname.

Marc Ambinder has passed the word to Doughat that one shouldn't debate with Yglesias in the kitchen --where there are blades lying around.

As far as the Montgomery incident, welcome to Philly politics.

I'm waiting to see if John Street cuts Ed Randell.

And it was the Hillary supporter wielding the knife.

Not to mention that "house," being feminine in French, would necessitate an additional "e," thus rendering even that contortion erroneous.

"And it was the Hillary supporter wielding the knife"

And he was a republican! (true)

You'd still be missing the accent aigu on "divide," too. Like this: dividé. Or: dividée. If that were French.

You bastard!

I demand you even out your record by offering a series of predictions on where the sun will rise in the morning, the likelyhood of the Chicago Cubs winning the world series, what will happen to a cannonball released from the top of the leaning tower of pisa, etc.

no!! obama is doomed

There's a grammar error we can't pin on Matthew, though --- CBS3 apparently doesn't know that the plural of brother-in-law is brothers-in-law, not brother-in-laws.

Matt finally gets something right: that his predictions are always wrong.

So, of course, he tries to JINX HIMSELF into making his earlier prediction that Clinton will win succeed by reversing it and predicting Obama will win.

This is like trying to explain how Skynet even knows John Connor sent Resistance fighters back in time in order to send a Terminator after them in Episode 2.

The only rational explanation here is that in an alternate time-line, Clinton wins, but Matt was a belly-dancer instead of a pundit in that time-line anyway, so it didn't count.

Up next: we try and convince Matt that not only are all his predictions wrong, but so are most, if not all, of his opinions.

never bring a chokehold to a knife fight.
i stole that from someone. but it cracked me up.
