I think it's possible that, as a society, we've moved past recognizing that the Clipse is awesome and onward to a Clipse-backlash phase. But I still say they're awesome. And now you can stream We Got it for Cheap Volume Three up on their website.

Meh. I'll take GhostFace Killah over The Clipse every day of the week.
What's this "we" crap, kemosabe?
There is no opinion on music "as a society" anymore, especially on a low-profile group like Clipse. There are young adults who listen to music regularly who couldn't identify "Umbrella" if it played. The pop market is too fragmented today; there is no collective consciousness even of what bands exist to even have opinions of, much less what those opinions are.
WTF is a Clipse ?
The Carmina Burana thing is way overplayed.
Hey, no reason we can't love Ghostface and The Clipse at the same time, Daniel.

somewhere around the 26 minute mark:
"Like Pearl Jam I kill my peers like Jeremy"
I Love Clipse.
seriously, M.Y., you just got way cooler in my book
through all the fire, the fury was born
a 4'11" cuban helped us weather the storm
"Hey, no reason we can't love Ghostface and The Clipse at the same time, Daniel.

Okay, okay. We can love Ghostface and The Clipses at the same time.
This may sound odd coming from an upper middle class white guy, but Matt you don't look like the kinda guy that is bumping Malice and Pusha. And of course we can love Ghost and The Clipse.
Someone should program a bot to repost this brilliant comment by Adam every time Matt or Megan mentions an obscure band*.

*I will allow exceptions for obscure artists who have appeared in Apple TV ads, as these artists then become somewhat non-obscure.
Adam Villani has it right. Nobody's music opinions matter any more - if they ever really did.
Naming a band, saying they sound like some other band, all fine. More information is cool.
Telling me what is "good" - hey, fuck off, dude, I'll decide that, fuck you very much.
Clipse is aight... certainly clever lyrics...... but how many times can you laugh at puns involving weapons and cocaine? Any idea how Clipse got so popular among young hip white America?
Cause I say Talib's 'Eardrum' is much hotter than anything Clipse has ever done... and I don't see Yglesias blogging about that.
