Cooking the Books

It seems that Christopher J. Ward, the top guy for keeping track of election-related money in GOP circles, has been stealing money from campaign committees he's supposed to be overseeing. Couldn't have happened to a nicer political party, I snark, but seriously it's a bit confusing to me. If you're a big player in Republican circles and you want to cash in, they way to do it is help some business group rob the public blind, and then have them pay you. Ask Billy Tauzin. This isn't rocket science.

The same neurons that allow you to lie to the people are the ones that let you lie to your allies, neighbors, friends and self. That applies to a lot of people on all sides.

If two groups, idealists and crooks, are drawn to government service, which group is more talented, assuming that money draws talent, and government jobs can often pay off big, but mostly if you're a crook?

Commissioner Daniels would never have stood for this.

I love this! The Republicans even steal from each other!
