Hillary in the House

13 Mar 2008 01:14 pm

I won't engage in any further elitist disparaging of the quality of pro-Clinton user-generated content. But watch this video:

Bonus points for the part about how "we don't need no bling."

I always wondered what happened to Corky St. Clair.

He impressively managed to include both racist and sexist tropes there. Good job, sir.

For anyone who thinks that Ferraro was right, just imagine that was Obama supporters singing and dancing about how "we need a black man in the White House." Then imagine how that would go over.

Whoever you support, you should agree that being black does not help you get elected president.

This is the last nail in the coffin that holds my dead soul.

With six weeks till PA, and the press getting bored, there's going to be a macaca moment. There are enough Clinton supporters and surrogates within the state who have, let's say, a tense relationship with African-Americans, and one of them is going to end up on the YouTubes saying something really not good.

But, of course, that won't sway the campaign's apparent intent to drive the party off a cliff.

What kind of sexist crap is that, reducing women to to cleaning ladies.

Good grief, these things just keep coming.

I thought the first one (with the 'jazzy' band) was a hoax at the time. Now, I don't.

I think it would be best for the nation if we all pretended never to have seen this video.

Who is that guy?

$5 says hoax.

I hope Obama has a plan to win back the effeminate men demographic for the general.

I look forward to the Obama supporter response that terrorists need to be "dunked on" so we need a black man in the White House.

Bonus points for the part about how "we don't need no bling."

Damn. Now I just have to watch this mess.

So good to know that the stereotype of Obama supporters being elitist pricks is not true.

Nope, not true.

By the way, it takes both sides to ruin the party. McCain's going to win by default because the Dem factions will kill each other before the real fight.

OK, I want to hear one of those pedantic assholes from the last thread try to defend this terror.

I'm speechless.

I just see the next Democratic Presidency disappearing down the rathole of identity politics.

<SimonCowell> wow. that was embarrassingly bad. utterly terrible. awful.</SimonCowell>

Jayhawk Max:

Funniest comment of the entire sorry saga. Hats off, you almost inspired a real live coffee spit...

THIS IS EXCELLENT NEWS!! FOR HILLARY!!!

Dammit Woody, you beat me to it. I was about to ask if Christopher Guest directed that video.

By the way, it takes both sides to ruin the party.

Yeah, It does take two.

1 to show up and ask "Can we come in?"

-and-

1 to respond "Hell no you cant come in you farking newbie! Who the hell do you guys think you and your bullshit entourage of idiot kids have the right to crash my mother-fing party you piece of crap. Get out right now or I swear I'll burn this whole farking house down around us all, you sons of monkey-loving bitches!! Its MY Farking party!!!! Get out! Get out! GEEEEEEEETTTTT OOOOOOOUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTT!"

Yup. It always takes 2.

OK, I want to hear one of those pedantic assholes from the last thread try to defend this terror.

Apparently, the defense amounts to calling Obama supporters elitist pricks and then moving on.

Good stuff.

Also: well played, Jayhawk. Well played.

Brang on da' nause.

Hardly an original comment, but I must say I used to have some basic respect for HRC, however after all this racial crap - especially the Ferrarro thing - I'm developing a visceral dislike for her and for Bill. I never understood the anti-Clinton mania which afflicted people like Sully and Hitchens, but I'm beginning to now. I think, still, that it is inarguable that you can be an effective and useful pol despite being a rather awful person (eg Bill), so I would of course vote for HRC in the general against McCain, but...she really is dreadful, and I will always feel that way, now. She's reminding me of Nixon, frankly:

HRC: Obama not a Muslim 'as far as I know'

RN: 'Some would say....'

HRC: 'I'm not a quitter. I've never been a quitter'

RN: 'I'm not a quitter. I've never been a quitter'

Please *learn* to be a quitter Hillary.

I got to about 22 sec. before i stopped the video. It's just to painful...
We don't need no bling? jesus!

I won't engage in any further elitist disparaging of the quality of pro-Clinton user-generated content.

No need. It would be laughable to suggest that Saturday Night Live of late has been anything but top notch -- at least from the perspective of production values and such.

"It's hard out here for an educated, wealthy, professional white woman, who's not afraid to call a spade Obama Hussein Jackson."

I would like to hear Gerry's flow.

Please *learn* to be a quitter Hillary.

She's in the bargaining stage right now. After Pennsylvania pretty much ends in a statistical tie, she'll hit the Depression stage. When she gets all the way through that, she'll accept that she can't win and concede.

Give her time and a lot of support. It can't be easy to have so completely fubarred a gimme nomination.

Why is Fred Schneider for HRC?

I only made it to 0:24. The pain.

I dunno Big Jilm, Jackmormon's comment almost made me spit coffee.

This video is part of Hillary's race baiting campaign. By having her supporters engage in the most corny, shockingly bad, stereotypically white behavior, she is telling all those "Archie Bunkers" that she is one of them.

It would be laughable to suggest that Saturday Night Live of late has been anything but top notch -- at least from the perspective of production values and such.

Yes, and my Republican friends don't think Dennis Miller has lost a step either.

Tim K, you have a great singing voice.

I'm really, really impressed.

Oh. My. God.

I actually liked Hillary4U&Me. It could be viewed as a campy revival of middle-class liberalism circa 1974, to a Jackson5-esque soundtrack. "Hill-a-ry . . . as easy as A B C . . ." Also, the brunette dancing in front -- well, enough said.

But this definitely takes things to a different level. I think this needs to be rejected *and* denounced.

All I can say is that I'm glad I just happen to be using antibiotic eye drops right now.

Face the Music -

I disagree with your assessment. I think Hillary is going to win the popular vote in PA by a small but significant margin. They may break even in delegates, but I think you would be hard pressed to say that she will drop out after winning, no matter how the math shapes up.

Honestly, the math does not favor her, and most analysts say it is impossible for her to overcome the delegate deficit she is in. I think she is going to take it all the way to the convention, hoping to ride the "I won Ohio and Pennsylvania" line all the way, in order to persuade superdelegates that she would be more competitive against McCain.

It is unfortunate - the race is over, but she just won't see the light. Kind of sad, actually, and it makes me wonder just how much she will implode as the realization comes true.

I like the camera guy uncomfortably clearing his throat at the end ...

I continue to be amazed that the best video about this nomination race was made 15 years ago...

I just wanted to add that I too never understood the problem with the Clintons but since the campaign I have started to get some more understanding. You can see it getting more polarised and divisive by the day. The ttacks on the Clintons in the '90s were totally out of order and it isn't confined to entirely to the Clintons this time either, but there is a causal factor that runs through that is difficult to miss.

Does anybody know how to clean vomit off a computer screen?

Is that the guy from "the break up" movie? the deftones or something?

When she gets all the way through that, she'll accept that she can't win and concede.

It's amazing how many people are concerned with what Hillary should do, but pay so little attention to what Barack should do. You know the old adage that you dress for the job you want?

He should be acting like the nominee, spending about 80% of his time challenging John McCain, and about 20% of his time strongly responding to Hillary's worst attacks. It would cement the perception of him as the frontrunner, and make her compete in the McCain bashing, which would be ideal, or make her look like she is more concerned with internal strife than the bigger picture, which works too.

I held up for 42 seconds! Beat that!

Wow! That was almost -- though not quite -- as mortifying as listening to prepschool kids discuss how into punk rock they were:

http://bloggingheads.tv/diavlogs/8745

(There was another blogging heads, which eschewed the dialog form, for wacky antics at someone's door that was more embarassing than all these put together. Alas, I'm not strong enough to find it. I think the imitable Spencer Ackerman might've been involved. Um, it starts with someone at a door doing just horrific schtick . . . . Well, it's worth checking out for fans of utter self-love, true horror and failed attempts to be amusing. Trust me, it makes 'Two Girls One Cup' look like the work of Jean Renoir. This Hilary video is nothing compared to that blog video classic. Simply has to be seen to be believed.)

And, ahem, speaking of "bonus points" as Matt just was . . . "bonus points" to Mr. Yglesias for making fun of working-class adult rubes now and not just the underage children of unemployed steelworkers!

Didn't he try this post-Potomac Primary, and basically get rewarded for it by getting clubbed over the head by Hillary, losing the TX popular vote, etc?

Anyway, he's apparently trying it again

You can see my take on the incentive structures in the comments section of that link

The bling comment is a bit much, why even go there ... I mean, I know Barack got 'dem dubs on his Escalade and shit, but Hill gonna yank his chains like Eddy Curry and 'Toine got did if he don't watch out ...

Anybody got a square?

"Punk rock kitchen"!

Link to the other one. No one likes a tease.

Can I return my membership in the white race?

Too hilarious. It can't be real.

Getting ready to get out this morning, I thought of Bill Clinton being called the first black president. Gave me a smile.

Matt- I was a little turned off by you snarking at a bunch of high school kids, but on this one, snark away.

I personally enjoyed the discoesque arm dancing.

That um was um, unique.

Clearly Obama operatives have infiltrated Hillary's campaign in order to further discredit her.

OH GOOD GOD! Was that for real?! I was embarrassed simply watching the video.

*head shakes*

It's like watching your semi-drunk aunts dancing a distant cousin's wedding. Apropos of Clinton's campaign in general.

... of course, I'm from PA, and there's an awful lot of semi-drunk aunt types there ... if they do Shout! Obama might be in trouble.

Where is Eugene Levy? I have to agree that is so Christopher Guest.

So she's reaching out to the central PA / Alabama voters (to paraphrase her supporter, James Carville) with an effeminate guy singing a remix of a disco song? Were the puppets from Avenue Q unavailable? It's an 0-2 ad shtick: it likely makes those voters go "OMG a gay guy! Run away!" while tolerant people go "that is fucking lame."

This video reminded me of Sarah Connor's remark: "Honestly, I think I understand why they drop bombs on us."

An acquaintance of mine once said that if we nuked the college football stadium some Saturday night, we'd get rid of most of the morons in town.

This video proves it.

Vote for Skynet.

Vote for Putin.

Vote for the Mafia.

Vote for anybody except somebody whose followers are this fucking stupid.

Really, we Transhumans will not let this travesty stand. You're fucking doomed, people - even if we Transhumans never exist.

Hey all you rapidly-aging 20-something hipsters,

Riverdance soon to be hip, starting in da Bronx, with the generation soon to overtake you?

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/14/nyregion/14educ.html

Take it from a ancient boomer, it is never wise to boast as if having cutting edge knowledge of hip, the retro cycles go faster and faster all the time, and there is always someone younger than you.

P.S. Clue: Fits quite well with the Kenyan/Irish background thingie. Chances are good you might see these kids or similar perform in a future inauguration?

Obviously, Hillary should drop out of the race at once because of a user-generated video.

Just like Move-On should have dissolved as an organization after a single user submitted a Nazi-fied video to their contests.

The shark, Matt, is over here. Oh, wait. You already jumped it, so you must know where it is. Sorry.

Jesus christ.

omigawd

Nothing can prepare you for it.

So I've got to get someone else to watch this before seven days are up or I'll die, right?

People that can make non-embarrassing nor race baiting supporter generated content don't count anyway.

Hillary in the House. So, where does Hillary Clinton get her campaign managers; runners-up from American Idol, where's Paul, where's Simon? I guess some folks take longer than others to wise up; the Clintons are kryptonite: http://theseedsof9-11.com

I held up for 42 seconds! Beat that!

Then you missed some unspeakably awful reach-for-the-sky dance action at about 1:08, my friend. Yes you did.
