Hillary in Tuzla

23 Mar 2008 01:19 pm

A new short film on the death-defying adventures of America's ex-First Lady:

Funny stuff. Meanwhile, McCain tax proposals are even more regressive than Bush's.

Even McCain's economic adviser admits that McCain's plan "will make deficits expand." This at a time when we're $9 trillion in debt, and the interest we pay on that debt (to China, Japan, etc.) is getting pretty crazy.

On the other side of the aisle, even The Wall Street Journal has (grudgingly) admitted that Obama's plan "adds up."

Agreed. I much prefer a candidate who touts his foreign policy experience as "living overseas when he was younger". Nice catch Matt. If only the "low information" voters, and voters that if only things were explained to them a little better, they would naturally flock to Obama. If only they had been reading reasoned liberals like you, Josh Marshall, and Kevin Drum we wouldn't be in this mess in Iraq! Kepp telling like it really is Matt!

I'm a little confused. How are we ever going to pay back all those debts? Isn't a massive tax increase inevitable?

Well, at least that's not a blatant fucking lie.

One does wonder, however, if the MSM will ever run this Tuzla fantasy. I sort of doubt it. The Clintons telling bald-faced lies doesn't get ratings anymore. It just looks like re-runs.

I'm sure Clinton just forgot the details of her time in Tuzla. That's one of the classic symptoms of PTSD.

great video.

i hope hillary's bald-faced lies get attention.

Personally, I would rather have a president whose worldview was in part crafted by living abroad instead of someone who thinks having crumpets with other First Ladies to prepare her for caving on the Iraq War, cluster bombs, the Cuba travel ban, Kyl-Lieberman, etc. is foreign policy experience.

I agree that it will be interesting to see how much play this gets over the weekend. Various versions of these clips are all over the net. Honestly, I'm more than a little surprised at the number of comments claiming a switch from Clinton to Obama.

Sure, we know the Clintons lie, but I think this is different. It's having flat-out evidence. Boy, HRC really shouldn't have gone into so much detail last Monday. Could it be that desperation has set in to the point that the Clintons don't even realize anymore when they're lying???

We'll see what happens with the general public, but I can guarantee you that a lot of uncommitted superdelegates are asking themselves if they really want to spend the next four years defending this sort of thing.

I just watched the clip again. I have two comments:

1) Hillary's use of the word "certainly". I mean, she wants to give the impression that there's no doubt in her mind what happened. How does she possibly explain that away?
2) The Indiana Jones theme music woven into the clip is, to put it simply, outstanding.

Nice. It would be funny if, when Hillary was walking off the plane, they spliced in some footage of Cobra Commander screaming "ATTACK!"

Why do you always have to attack Sen. McCain? The man already said that he didn't understand economics and you know he's a confused old man. He often says things that aren't true, and you just have to give him the benefit of the doubt.

And we all know that the Clintons are liars, so it doesn't count when they lie. Obama, on the other hand, should prove to us that he's better than that by not saying anything ever that could be construed as reflecting negatively on himself. He also needs to collect more votes and pledged delegates and states and superdelegates because they count less when they go for him.

"One does wonder, however, if the MSM will ever run this Tuzla fantasy. I sort of doubt it."

Agreed, now if you dig up a 60 second clip of a 5 year old sermon by some angry black guy, now that is what will get Americans talking.

TALK ABOUT AN EVASIVE MANEUVER, came in under sniper fire ... you all remember ... sitting on our bulletproof vests. "Now that is what happened." -Hillary Clinton. So many lies, so little time: http://theseedsof9-11.com

The implosion of the Obama campaign continues apace. The Democractic electorate doesn't care about ridiculous resume-padding. The Democratic electorate cares about MANDATES!!

This should be run as an ad over and over and over again in Pennsylvania. Clinton thinks it's a personal attack when Obama calls her "untrustworthy", well what is more "untrustworthy" than getting caught in a bald faced lie?

The funny thing is that after Sinbad called out Hillary on this nonsense, the campaign had the opportunity to revise itself. Instead they basically called Sinbad a liar and then decided to double down and keep telling the story over and over again to reemphasize it. Now that is crazy and suicidal.

Lying. Documented.

Imagine what McCain could do with this if Clinton is the nominee.

Envision an ad showing McCain's stoicism under torture against Clinton's false claim of being in danger.

This is just sad.
