Pop songs just don't get any better than this, not least of all because Wayne is an Obama enthusiast. http://www.thedailyswarm.com/swarm/race-prize-barack-obama-gets-key-flaming-lips-endorsement/
The video is in some serious need of more girl on robot action. (Did that come out wrong?) I'm sure some fan video out there solves the problem.
Did Yoshimi actually win? I remember a lot of the songs afterwards were about accepting our own mortality, which can't be a good sign.
I love this song, this album, and this band. One of my most memorable concert-going experiences was seeing Sonic Youth and the Flaming Lips in Columbus in 2006. Excellent show with two exceptional bands.
How can you compare that to this? Cameron kicking a guy against a brick wall Or this: Cameron is de-activated and chip removed Or this: Cameron fights T-888 & gets run over!
yoshimi lost. apparently you can hear her screaming when captured by the robots in yoshimi part 2. also you're right about the songs on accepting our own mortality - in particular 'do you realise'.
One of my fave albums evah! Haven't seen the video till now.
