Charlie Rose is not a douche bag.
That's a terrific advertisement for MacBook Air.
Would Charlie Rose sacrifice his face for a Klondike Bar?
Most people just sacrifice $3200.
I doubt very much that he "decided" to sacrifice his face... he just fell and thought this version of the story makes him sound less clumsy.
He might have broken his fall had he not paused thoughtfully halfway down.
Just talked to an Apple guy the other day who said you could drop the Air a certain distance and it would work. He said he'd seen a dropped one that had the hinges cracked but it worked.
Next time, Charlie, flip over and land on your back with your arms wrapped around the Air. You might hurt more but you'll look better on TV.
Rose is a douchebag and is certainly too stupid to break a fall, regardless of what he might carrying.
Cf his love of Henry Kissinger and his belief that McInsane has any knowledge of anything.
Too bad there was no serious injury to the douchebag.

^ The essence of douchebaggery.
I like Rose, but he talks way too much for an interviewer.
Professor Rose's fumble is about as perfect an illustration of what's wrong with Apple today as I can think of.
Rather than invest r&d dollars in developing features that users really want - building light, tough notebooks with kevlar (or some other comparable material) shells that can survive being dropped or having a cup of coffee dumped on them, that have lids covered with solar cells, that have battery power superior to their Windows-based rivals - we get these pretty but lame machines appropriate only for rich but unserious users.
Apple declared defeat in the processor wars. Apple has long used third party hard drives. Apple's major hardware components are slightly better than an average pc from a major manufacturer (for twice the price) but only about half as good as a home built pc with high end components (for twice the price of a good home built machine).
Apple was at one time a serious innovator and therefore a serious competitor. They still have a cult following but it's largely irrational and a more intuitive ui isn't worth twice the cost of a good pc. Their labor practices are really no better than any major tech company including Microsoft and in any number of professional contexts - including tv and video - Apple machines are considered unserious.
PS I'm also a multi-platform sort of fellow (although my last mac crapped out a few months ago). And a ui that's way way better than the other one ain't nothing. I just want to see apple get back to solving problems - including if not especially the ones we don't even know we have - and spend less time on image stuff; what problem does the mac book air solve? (other than not being able to stick your notebook in your pants). Y'all already ticked me off when I had to buy adobe stuff on pc or an intel mac + all new adobe stuff (I blame this both on apple and adobe). Give me a good reason to buy a new mac other than quark. I really like Mellel(although you're inclined to say: we spent billions on Israeli subsidies and all we got was this word processor).
I'm inclined to agree on the Mac, but I have a client who does digital multimedia conversion (video, film, stills to digital mostly for home users and small business) who's considering switching from PC to Mac simply because the amount of down time on Adobe products on the PC is just ridiculous. Final Cut Pro on the Mac is considered to be more reliable and just as powerful as Adobe Premiere apparently - without the constant crashes of either Premiere or Windows.
But, yeah, I can't see the point of the Air either. It's for people with too much money.
